Title: This Colorado game is the biggest game of Coach Prince's short career.
Post by: turbowildcat on October 10, 2007, 11:28:45 PM
He wins against Colorado we have hopes for North title. And Top 25 ranking.
He losses we are in the cellar of the Big 12, we will not come out alive.
And with the whole scandal in cheating, the negatives are adding up against Prince.

Does anyone think that this is reminescent of last year when we lost to Baylor? Freeman looked HORRIBLE, Clayton saw his last real game action as a wildcat and I thought all was practically lost. Then OSU happened - and that was unreal! Last year's OSU team = this year's CU team. I dont see why we cant win - but I concur, we are screwed if we dont win.  :banghead:

If we lose, it will be 9/11 times 2,356.
My god, that's... I don't even know what that is.
Nobody does.

The North is so bunched together that anything can still happen. There is NO scandal!

IMO, it's a big game because if we lose I don't think we make it to a bowl game and not making it to a bowl game would be a death knell for Prince.

Coach Prince is 8-8 against Division 1-A teams and 5-5 against the Big 12....

True cause we had just come off of going to bowl games in the last couple of seasons.

Really, how long has the Ron been around?

If we don't make it a bowl, then Ron gets the honor of the only Big 12 coach to have ever done worse in his second year than his first...thus fully negating the "wow, what an amazing first year for Ron" factor.

Hasn't that sort of been Ron's M.O. on a micro level?  Beat Texas, lose to Kansas.  Beat Texas, lose to Kansas.  Make a bowl, cruddy season...rinse, repeat.

I have a hard time blaming Ron, however, when our Offensive Coordinator has been so horrid.  I say we let Ron fire Jimmy Franklin, hire a new one (maybe a spread offense guy?), and give him 3 more years to right the ship.  If we don't go 2-1 against ku and become bowl eligible every year, then we fire Tan Line.

LOL @ firing Franklin after two seasons and giving the new guy three to fix it.

We need three wins and we still get Colorado and Baylor at home. On top of that we have winnable games at Oklahoma State, at Iowa State and at Fresno State. I have no doubt we can win at Nebraska and I don't trust Missouri with expectations.

A bowl game is still very much attainable as is the Big XII North because there's no way Kansas doesn't find a way to lose twice. They could very easily lose to Baylor this week.

ku could easily lose to Baylor, Missouri could easily lose to Oklahoma and Nebraska could easily lose to Oklahoma State and we should beat Colorado on Saturday. That puts us right back in the drivers seat in the Big XII North and you'll be back here on Monday talking about giving Coach Prince a contract extension again.

LOL at giving Jimmy the OC job because he was a "good recruiter" and then Jimmy not producing as a recruiter or an OC.

Continued suckage on offense + no Brown brothers = Jimmy returns to his job as an NFL towel boy.

It is downright laughable to hear some of you guys go from "Lock Prince up now!!!!!" one week ago to "OMG!  This game against CU will determine if we will ever be good under Prince!!!!"

It's obvious our talent is increasing.  It's obvious Prince has a plan with recruiting.  No one thought we were going to win more than 7-8 games this year.  Relax.

ku is irrelevant to the discussion.  We could (and imo probably will) lose to ku next year (or any year) and still make it to the Big 12 CG and/or to a bowl game.  Ron needs to go to a bowl, period.

Firing Franklin (who, other than Wally, appears to be the only one recruiting) won't solve the problem on offense.  The offense could be solved by not having a bunch of FP's on the OL, although it appears who we have on the OL is who we have for at least this year and next, so we better figure out a way to be creative.

Also, what this program needs is stability, especially from the coaching staff; losing the OC wont' help that at all, it will only set the offense back as we'll have to learn another system.  Our defense needs to stop the run (make stops in general) to give our offense more opportunities.

Yes last year it was exciting to get to a bowl game, expectations rise and we should be beating majority of the rest of our schedule, I mean Baylor, Colorado, ISU, NU, OSu. So we should go at least 6-2 in conference play.

I agree with you ten fold, this CU game will determine if Prince is a good coach. And I am tired of our fans talking about locking up a coach, and talk about we have increased talent. KSU will never have great depth with great amounts of talent. We have to develop the talent like the Rutgers, Louisville's, and well basically like any Big East team.
