Keitzman thinks so. Poor K-State. Suffering from the fallout of a system that forces them to take marginal student athletes. :'(
-
Did you know that someone once called me the Kevin Keitzman of message boards?
I can't think of a higher honor.

So there is no boycott of 810? :D
-
All I know is that Deb Patterson better be prepared to start working with a few less scholarships
-
So using Keitzman logic, we can then say ku is a victim of the system as well, having had to organize a series of academic frauds for up to 7 or more JC transfers in an orchestrated effort to get them eligible to play.
Oh wait, that was just some lonely back office GA that thought all that stuff up.

Can we sacrifice all of the womens basketball scholarships for mens basketball and football?

If Weiser uses PerkinsMethdology, than any number of KSU's women's programs are going to lose some rides over all of this, I fully expect either Judy Ackers or Lynn Hickey to get tossed under the bus at the press conference as well if Weiser uses the PerkinsMethodology.

Dax, you can either learn from our approach, or you can get whacked. Your choice.
But you are losing focus. ALL universities are being victimized by being forced to take marginal players. Apparently there isn't a damned thing they can do about it. Maybe they can hire Sally Struthers to petition the NCAA for relief.
-
IIRC, another major NCAA violation puts K-State at the #3 dirtiest athletic department of all-time.
:beerchug:

So the ku approach would be to organize the cheating within the confines of the various sports team offices, admit to wrong doing two years after the fact (with the illegal booster gifts being the exception since that was ongoing into the Bill Self regime and was amazingly discovered on a random Lew Perkins visit to the mailroom), and then take another 2 years to investigate it and report its findings to the NCAA?? I just want to be clear here.
Just so you'll know, KSU discovered the problem in March, contacted the NCAA in March, and will wrap its internal investigation and report to the NCAA within the next several weeks. How can this be??
-
If you want to get off lightly, yes, go with that.
Also: "Although the notice of inquiry stated that the NCAA hoped to complete its investigation by Oct. 1, Butler, the university attorney, said it was ongoing. " :ohno:
-
Oh that's scary Hoax, the NCAA is well known for being "johnny on the spot" with everything in these areas programmed down to the last second.
-
How good do you feel about Weiser heading up the response team?
-
I think in these areas Timmy is pretty good . . . Timmy is clearly extremely concerned about what everyone thinks of him and he'll look at this as something that reflects directly on him, so he'll investigate it completely. It wouldn't be THAT surprising to me that if they do eventually find any coaching involvement in this that Timmy wouldn't fire the coaches and maybe the entire staff. Since 1990 (and before) any coach at KSU found committing NCAA infractions has been fired. Sadly, NCAA infractions at some schools mean promotions and contract extensions.

If he's losing focus, you must be blind. NO universities are being victimized, they are pimps that are whoring their credibility for money. Colleges are supposed to have standards, their standards provide value to the graduates. The only ones being victimized are the athletes that are only at the school for their physical ability.

Cue a Hoax Bishop reference in 3 . . . 2 . . .1

Jester, I was . . . nevermind.
