No.
So much coverage from the UT victory. Only downside was 4 other upsets happened too.
-
never - beating Texas feels too good (and we got ranked). We recruit more in TX than KS anyway...looks good for recruiting. National exposure
-
No, and I know there are posts on here (and other places) from many posters before the ku game stating the same thing. TU win > ku win.
-
No f*cking way.
-
Amen, Texas win is so much bigger than a ku win would be.
-
what a dumb ass question.

If I have to answer this ridiculous question, then I'd say "no." It is a shame that it seems to be mutually exclusive to many.
The question we should be asking is would you rather have the UT vicotry, or the ku loss and the impending demise that followed last year?

UT victory. We would have gotten killed by Rutgers no matter what.

I agree with that...Rutgers was head and shoulders better than us.
However, I have a real bad feeling about this CU game.
-
we will lose to CU
-
No. But Ron better make it to a bowl game this year, or IMO, fan support is going to nose dive.

Yes.
-
I'm tempted to go with "Yes" on this one
-
fan support is not above 85% IMO
-
we will lose to CU
let's at least make them earn it.

Yes.
Yes? I guess you're implying that I answer this a "yes" rather than a no?
A better way to word the question is this: if KSU is going to miss a bowl game, would you rather it beat ku or UT. I still say UT. All I'm saying is that for me Ron has to back that win up, or it doesn't matter if we beat UT or ku.

Java is correct. I'm just agreeing that fan support will be insanely bad w/o a bowl. I would still say UT, too, but fewer people would agree with us in your no bowl scenario.

After beating Texas and getting the hoax at home, I was really wanting both.
-
Considering I'd like to be competing for the North, I'd prefer a win over ku.

We cannot compete with Mizzou this year. Ergo, this is irrelevant.
-
Losing a close game at Auburn was even better than if we beat ku. Prince is a big picture guy; getting the brand out to the recruits is the primary mission. Once he gets recruits on a national scale to think about K-State, trivialities like ku will take care of themselves. Kids outside this area don't care about ku-KSU. They want their peers watching them on national tv vs. UCLA, Miami, VTech, etc. I think it's positive that we have opened the doors for California and kids on the east coast. They are untapped areas to find rough diamonds. The state of Texas is phenominal in regards to talent, but we cannot build a nationally competitive program with kids that can't get offers from national powers, A&M, UT, OU and assorted conference brethern.
I also have a bad feeling about CU. If we cannot go vertical, CU will pack the box, and from what I've seen, CU has a better defense. On offense, they are a better overall running team and effectively use the ground game to set up the pass.
-
Not a chance.
-
I agree the Texas win was great, but if Prince keeps losing to ku I don't think the fanbase will respond too well.
-
Does anyone else think that maybe Prince is Too Close to the ku rivalry growing up in JC ? I think he stresses so hard over the ku game that he doesn't think straight and doesn't play call anywhere near as fast and loose like he does against other opponents. I sure as hell hope ku doesn't become the monkey on his back that Osborne was to Snyder.
-
I would take winning over UT always over winning over ku. It will never happen, but if we were to play UT and ku every year, I STILL take UT if for nothing else, the exposure is ridiculous.
-
If we lose the north to ku by one game, or tie and lose by tiebreaker then yes. In any other circumstance no.

Would have to be a tie.

Second in the north > fifth

The only tiebreaker that matters is first.
I'm cool with us being in a 4 way tie for 2nd. (i.e. 5th).
Spill the recruits info.

You know there is a side to this we need to look at and that is we only play Texas twice every four years and ku every year. So it is important to beat ku, but since we can't beat Texas the next two years, you know who we'll have to settle for beating?
OU!
Just think about how much exposure we'll get beating OU 2 years in a row!
:woot:
