Well like I said about the Roehlder (sp??) kid, if nobody else wants kids like that, that's just fine by me, because the kid has got a motor and a major nose for the football.
I don't know who Carroll was playing in those videos but he was absolutely terrorizing them.

Fatty ... using your logic. Kevin Lockett, Travis Ochs, Dirk Ochs, Mark Simoneau, Terrence Newman, Nyle Wiren and many others were "worthless commits".

no question snyder had a knack for finding guys who despite lack of typical physical attributes (like say a josh buhl), could be coached to play the game right thus making up for whatever lack of size/athleticism. now obviously the NC caliber squads Snyder had had some major talent, but the consistent year in and out winning was certainly a product of just having that eye for coachable football kids with hard working attitudes.
not sure if prince has that eye or not. Dear God I hope he does to some extent...Because speed speed speed wont matter if you dont have inate football skills.

The opposing view is that football skills are taught, but athleticism can't be. There is something to this. And given that we are getting some better athletes than we've had recently, we could be in pretty good shape if our coaches do their jobs well.
The notion that one coach is better at any other at picking out hidden gems is nonsense. It's not that mysterious and it certainly isn't complicated. Some coaches produce better players because they are better at coaching them, not because they are good at finding diamonds in the rough.
