Just wondering...what do the student-types think about this move?
-
Hopefully the success of our basketball team will overshadow this crapty move. Half the fun of the Wooly-era games I went to were harassing the opposing teams players.
-
I'm just glad we continue to strive to be the most PC Athletic Department in the league...
-
I think it sucks. Having out students behind the visitors was a awesome home court advantage. We were one of the only schools that had our students that close to the visitors.

I thought this was direction from the league.
-
I think it's great.

You are correct.
WILDCATNATION continues to be brain dead.

It's gay.

A "suggestion" from ku and Texas....ehhh I mean the Big 12.
-
Good move.
Gets the main student section right down to the edge of the floor, just like Ahearn.
-
It does? Then where will the press sit?
-
Actually, I remember when Tan Tom moved the seats across to the east side, the best thing the guy did while at KSU.
There was a row of seats on the opposite (inside) side of the railiing closest to the floor for VIPs, then the media bench. My guess is the students will remain exactly where they are now, and there will be more VIP room added, i.e. rich people buying floor seats.

I think you've completely lost it.

Still have brain.

This is all very fascinating, but where is the press going to move to, if not the east side of the court?
-
I bet they move the press up by where they video the games from. Or perhaps they'll build them a little crow's nest like they had in Ahearn...
-
Anyone notice they jacked up the student prices to 100 bucks? Excellent.

My guess is they plexiglass the bottom of our scoreboard and set them inside of it so they're looking directly down onto the court, thus giving them a broader view of our program.

... and how bramblage used to be... It will only be good if they put the students back on the floor. If it becomes a row of muckity muck Laker fans (Lachey), it will be bad... unless Jessica tags along. :fatty:

I have it on good authority from a bunch of jackoffs that have never had season tickets that we aren't allowed to bitch about Weiser jacking prices...
-
I think it's great. He hired a big-time coach, I'm more than willing to pay.
If Lowery or some crap like that was hired, I prolly wouldn't have bought tickets.

Just wait until Weiser bring in the points system for basketball like Sweet Lew did over at ku. That was a real raw deal for the longtime ticket holders at Allen Field House.

Non-issue, those don't exist at Bram.

Tell that to the folks they have been running out as Phillips 66 Fan of the Game.
Those people have been going to games since long before the best part of Fatty's DNA ran down the inside of his momma's leg and ended up as a brown spot on the bed.

Someone is learning biology!

did they ever consider just moving the band? Split it up and have the teams run between them into the tunnel...they could move the court farther north so there is plenty of room to do that...

i'm pretty sure some kind of point system already exists for the bram. at least based on donation level and longevity. cause i was told chairbacks center section seats were not available, even before huggins announcement.
-
eventually if the bram ever actually sells out for an extended period of time some sort of points system will be put in place that will screw over some if not many of the long time season ticket holders similar to what happened at kwho. its just a fact of life that some people will get screwed. if/when huggins is successful the exact same thing will happen at kstate. hell, it happened at wsu when they remodeled their arena. deal with it.

True

One of the reasons center section chairbacks are not available is because some of those people are, or have ties to people who contributed money to build Bramlage. If you gave X amount you had rights to chairback tickets forever as long as you paid the bill every year for the tickets. The rest go to people way up in KSU's point system as WN can attest.
In addition, when Bramlage first opened. The Benches were on the West Side, the press table was on a riser just behind the benches and the scorers table and ran the entire length of the court. The students had the front rows on the east side all the way up to the top for their seating.
Ask anyone who played at Ahearn, and they'll tell you it was absolutely terrifying for oppossing players to have to try and inboud the ball on the East Sideline right next to the students who were standing in some cases no more then 3 feet away. Amazingly Ahearn was a riot waiting to happen, but it never did ... but you could've had 4,000 students on the court in a matter of seconds. It would be outstanding IMO if they setup Bramlage like they originally did and let the students stand right down next to the court and run all the way to the top.
