Does it work at the college level? I will admit that before today, I hadn't made up my mind on whether or not I liked this ball control, methodical style of offense. But don't you at some point have to open of the field with some deep passes? I guess I just don't see the strategy behind never throwing downfield. Props to ku, they shut us down.

Sure it does... just ask Pete Carroll - I equate it to the triangle offense in BB = it must be ran nearly flawless for it to be very effective.

True. But we got so many short fields and didn't convert. I guess I'd just like to seea throw downfield and an I-form once in a while. But I do agree that defense is why we lost. We couldn't stop them when we had to.

As someone else said on another thread, how much longer do we have to keep scoring on trick plays?

The defense lost the game however, we had better athletes at wr than they had in their secondary. College football is about exploiting mismatches. we did not do that today. The wco is predicated on the offense having an inherent (?) advantage of knowing the snap count and where the play is going. We did not excecute.

No I realize that. But if our offense would have helped out by moving the ball more or taking advantage of short fields, that would have helped our defense out.

Were not physical in the run game yet.
I didn't count how many ku had in the box but it didn't seem like alot.

We may have had 14 or 21 points at the end of the 1st quarter if we hadn't had two drive-killing facemask penalties (wtf?) on Alesana. Those hurt...a lot...because we pretty much dominated the first-quarter flow.
I think that our offensive scheme would be great if we would throw some more mid-range passes. No, Freeman didn't have a lot of time back there, but he scrambled quite well and completed a lot of passes on the run.
