the rest of the year, and win the CCG, are we in a position for the NC? :woohoo:
-
Lovin the optimism.
But. No.
-
Only if damn near every other team has two losses. So, no.
-
Only if someone we play gets ranked in the top 5 between now and when we play them. But I do think a 1 loss team will play in the NC.

Nebraska wen to the NC game w/ 2 losses.....you never know. I just want to beat uk.

well its not completely out of the question. if usc and lsu drop a conference game and we run the table and win the ccg we would for sure land a bcs game. and if things go well enough for us, that may be the bcs championship game. and about the top 5 team by the end of the year; the winner of the ou-texas game is probably gonna be in the CCG and be ranked between 5-10. so really not a crazy idea after all.

IIRC, it was only one loss, but it was the biggie to Colorado on the last game, and they didn't go to the CCG, but they played in the Rose Bowl.

You'd have to see all of the following, at a minimum:
KSU stomps Nebraska and Mizzou, and has no close calls elsewhere on the schedule.
The winner of Oklahoma/Texas starts winning conference games convincingly every week, but loses badly to KSU in the CCG.
Auburn runs out their SEC schedule, including @ LSU, and takes the SEC title.
USC runs the table, including big @ Oregon.
The Big 10 beats each other up, including Michigan over OSU and Wisconsin in the last two weeks of the season.
Florida trips up on a road game, maybe Kentucky.
South Florida eventually f*cks up somewhere.
If all of that were to come to pass, you'd have the obvious #1 USC, a Big Ten champ with no shot (Michigan), and an SEC champion with two losses (Auburn). Meanwhile, we'd have only an opening day blemish at the SEC champs, and a pair of top ten non-home games. Other one-loss threats might be WVU, and maybe an ACC team.
Even then, I don't think it would happen. And then Prince would go to Michigan. :runaway:

The deal with the Big 12 is the winner of CCG goes to the Fiesta bowl if the NC isnt being held there. If NC is held in Tempe, then we go to another BCS bowl. I would like another crack at AU if they were to win out.

With the addition of the BCS Championship bowl has changed that. The 4 regular BCS bowl games, Fiesta Sugar Rose Orange and then the BCS Championship which still rotates
