I'm interested in learning more. :)

You'll never understand B&D.

You'll never understand B&D.
Maybe but I do know what a Dynasty is and I'd like to know how anything that KSU has ever done in sports could be considered one.
-
Now you're just being mean
-
according to most sources a dynasty is:
A succession of rulers from the same family or line.
or
A family or group that maintains power for several generations: a political dynasty controlling the state.
Now don't get me wrong...you guys had a good run from about 95-03 in football but that isn't even close to 'several generations'.
I will say that it is 'Bold and Daring' to claim a 'Dynasty' but in a foolishly ignorant way.
-
Now you're just being mean
How?
i am asking a question that is completely relevant to the title of this forum. How is that mean? Is it mean to point out that as an outsider with a basic understanding of the English language I don't understand the use of 'dynasty' in the title?

Did you not watch your Dynasty get beat last weekend by KST8? That was bnd football right therr.

What's ignorant is uk fans thinking their team is legitimate.
-
ku basketball isn't a dynasty. They may dominate the season, but the tournament is where dynasties shine. And ku doesn't really shine in the tourny.

Every dynasty must have a starting point. This is Prince's Dynasty of being Bold and Daring. Kind of like Bill Self's dynasty of choking in the tourney. Or Mangino's dynasty of losing road games.

IMO it's kind of weird to lurk around on a message board. just my opinion.

Texas? I'm confused.

ku football fans are cute. They probably look at us the same way when we talk basketball.

By the definition of several generations, the only dynasties in sports have been the yankees and notre lame.
Sports is a different animal.

It's like Mark Mangino's Short and Obese Dynasty, only entirely more successful.

wrong.
ku, UNC, IU, Kentucky, UCLA basketball are all considered dynasties and rightly so....they have won championships by two or more generations of players.
1952 = WWII generation and 1988 = Late Baby Boomer generation
How about the Green Bay Packers? The Dallas Cowboys?

I don't buy that, but if you are indeed a "manager," you're probably the guy in a short-sleeve white shirt with an ink stain on the pocket and pants that are just a little too short who everyone laughs at after you turn the corner to walk down the hall.
Did ya get the memo??

I thought your definition says "MAINTAINS POWER." Just winning in two different generations does not me that they maintained power that long... it just means that they were good (probably lucky) twice.

Actually, I'm probably going to watch the game with two KSU engineering school grads that are close friends. That is if I don't go to lawrence to watch the game with 'winner'.
It all depends on how I feel following our Royal BBQ party on friday night.
BTW how do you send someone rep/ karma points or praise? A few of you deserve some.

Dynasty = Pittsburg Steelers in the '70s, San Francisco 49ers in the late 80s early 90s, Dallas Cowboys in the 90s, NE Patriots lately... all of that means MANY Superbowl rings.
Duke, North Carolina, UCLA = Dynastys in NCAA Roundball
ku = 2 natl chs in the since 1952... that means you join other "Dynasties" like NC State and San Francisco CONGRATS, that is something to hang your hat on!

Just asked my buddy who actually went to Duke undergrad about ku declaring itself a basketball dynasty.
He laughed and hung up. Then he emailed me that, on second thought, he would use the word "legacy" as in national "legacy" for choking in the tournament.
I am sure UCLA and Kentucky fans wouldn't be that mean though. Keep on pluggin.

What I am saying is that a team that chokes in the NCAA tourney isn't a Dynasty... there are MANY schools who win their conferences - and Dynasties they are not.
BTW in order to win rings in FB you have to contend with that RIDICULOUS bowl system that we are cursed with... that is tougher than ANY game.

Don't be so touchy and defensive. If I had known you'd be this sensitive on the subject, I would have just let it go.
You need thicker skin on ku not being a dynasty.

Lighten up d00d. If we all just left it as 'sports is a different animal' then there would be nothing to discuss.
But since KSU hasn't won anything ever except for one conference championship under a different coach then how is it considered a dynasty?

Now you're just being mean
How?
i am asking a question that is completely relevant to the title of this forum. How is that mean? Is it mean to point out that as an outsider with a basic understanding of the English language I don't understand the use of 'dynasty' in the title?
You should've lurked more before posting here.
I'm too busy managing all the KSU grads under me.
What do the people under you (ksu grads) make you feel so little at work that you have to resort to posting on our message board. I'm scared. :ohno:
I'm just having fun with fellow kansans. Some people here are a little uptight but I trust that most of you understand that i'm just joking around.
Kidding aside, what do you do?
I'm a group benefits consultant for a large corporation based in leawood. Mostly focusing on implementing strategies for controling premium costs and administration time.
Good Lord! Is your business card a foot long?

You'll never understand B&D.
Maybe but I do know what a Dynasty is and I'd like to know how anything that KSU has ever done in sports could be considered one.
Did you not watch your Dynasty get beat last weekend by KST8? That was bnd football right therr.
Texas? I'm confused.
Assumed by your ID (reference to aTm) that yer a UT fan.
