Anyone else love this set up? I think when we move to a power run game in clock control situations, this is an awesome switch up.
-
maybe have him pass to freeman, and freeman look downfield...
-
Except whenever a running back leads the option like we did I get scared he is just gonna screw up the pitch.
I like the formation though.
-
I'm surprised no ku fans have come over claiming we copied that formation from them. Afterall, they did the same thing against mighty Florida International. AND they had Kerry Meier in the slot.....again, pure genius. Was Freeman in the slot???
-
Freeman was almost near the sidelines on the near side. Maybe a bunch formation with Freeman as a WR? I don't trust JJ to pass it half the width across the field and for JF to catch it.

Easily the best call of the day by the coaching staff imo.
Kicking a fg there and going up 16 = :ohno: for me. Being able to stick that in and make it a 3 posession game was large. I don't know if we would have(stuck it in) handing it off, or throwing our 349th square out.
I hope we start using this regularly beginning this week.

It's the first step towards Freeman becoming our TE.

i liked the call too. it gives ku one more thing to worry about and prepare for. JJ said last night to wyatt on the Prince radio show, that throwing out of that formation is never an option....maybe he's playing coy.
-
They could always run a reverse pass or if Jordy is on the other side a double-reverse pass going either way.

Finally
He wants to be a TE so ku fans would let him be a part of their hypothetical starting lineup.

Good point. It's known for a fact that every school other than KSU recruited him to be tight end.

At least every SMART school did.

the first team to do this formation was arkansas, they put mcfadden at QB and whoever there QB is at WR
they're really good at running it, mcfadden has even thrown some passing TDs out of it, last year they called it wildcat, but i guess they realized there mascot was a hog because this year they changed the name to wildhog. its an awesome formation and k-state's the only other school i've ever seen use it.
-
Can we get a youtube of the formation and play??

Snyder did it with Bishop several times and I don't remember any of them having any success.

here's a video about it, apparently other schools are now using it.
