This is gonna be tough on the boys after an emotional win over our biggest rival :ohno:
-
I'm worried we lose focus like we did after last year's win. I just don't want to walk home after a loss next weekend, and I'm paranoid after last year.
-
we will win

I just get a different sense from this team as compared to last. They are out to prove something this year. Last yr I was all sorts of giddy after the UT game, but was scared to death of a letdown...and look what happened.
This game isnt being blown completely out of proportion like last years game, not to mention the talent level this year is quite a bit higher than last year.
Seriously, if KSU athletic dept blows this win up and act like its the first time KSU fball has done anything like this I'm gonna be sick to my stomach. Act like you've been there before...and this team has. So, no worries.

It seems like we're acting like UT before they played us, and that scares me. I think we should win, but we have to focus.
-
I think they learned from last years debacle in Lawrence. I am pretty sure they will be focused and know they have to play to win and not just show up.

That's exactly what Texas said. I'm pretty sure they're still operating to remove Prince's foot from Mack's ass.

I think we will play down to their level; fortunately, this game is in manhattan. It won't be a blow out, but I can see freeman having a horrible game and our offense not producing anything but a couple of big plays; maybe a deon reverse or a running play busting it for big yards. Pennalties will return.
Because it's in manhattan, the crowd will keep us in the game and not allow huge momentum swings to stay in ku's posession too long. If last years game had been in a neutral site, I don't think ku could have played with as much emotion. Prob wouldn't have beaten us.
I'm thinking it will be a closer than should be game, but we'll pull it out.
Less than 10pt victory.

+1 This team seems to be on an even keel and intent on maintaining a high level of play. Definitely more disciplined than last year (despite the penalty issue through the first three games). They've also done a nice job of getting out of the gate quickly and looking fairly sharp very early on in every game, something Snyder's teams often struggled with. I seriously doubt there'll be much of a let down, if any.

You seem to have changed your tune a bit there, Azcat.

Yes, very true, but I think Texas has a sense of entitlement that KSU definitely lacks, so we should be able to learn from past mistakes.

I thought the team would struggle moving from the cover 2 to a 3-4. I also didn't see any consistency in the performances last season, decent one week, completely awful in all facets of the game the next; that's coaching / preparation straight-up and it's on Prince. Why would anyone expect such a dramatic improvement this season, particularly in light of the staff turmoil? And pretty much everyone here has noted (over and over and over again) that there have been quite a few more, "Who?!?" moments during the recruiting process than, "Wow!!!" moments. Lack of discipline + staff turmoil + new schemes + seemingly subpar recruiting didn't exactly seem like a recipe for success.
Especially since last season looked OK only if you kept the blinders on and looked solely at the W/L records while ignoring how the team actually performed (close wins and blowout losses). The only folks who could really have expected a far better KSU team to take the field early this season were those partaking in mass quantities of purple Kool-Aide. I expected a sloppy season this time around with perhaps some improvement next year.
But Prince has done a masterful job ... so far. It's clear that the team and the staff are both much improved. I always thought there was a chance Prince could have some success at KSU but he's a year or two ahead of where I expected him to be.

Because we got that sh*tty equipment manager off the team.
