Seriously, only 2200??
I wonder if their Alumni Club still has tickets, they bought some of their allotment and offered them to members.
-
Will someone buy me a ticket so I can go be an inspiring EMAW at this game? I am poor and I already traded my foodstamps for a ZJ.
Oh yeah, I'm gonna need a power towel too. THX! I am willing to trade a Lite Brite that is decorated to look like Ron Prince saving babies from a herd of African elephants.
-
Only if you don't bring a baggy and take food from the tailgate.
-
If you were a ku fan, there's a good chance you'd also refuse to acknowledge these so-called "road games."

-
According to Mooselogic thousands of ku fans bought tickets from KSU and through KSU fans.
So we can expect at least 10,000 ku fans at the game, if not more.
-
The real interesting thing is, that the endzone visitors section at KSU isn't seperated from the field by an 8 lane track and high jumping area, that's where lots of KSU fans get relegated too at JCCC-L Stadium.
-
They know it's an easy W and not worth attending.
-
Don't we have to give each school a 4,000 ticket "allotment"??? I always thought so.
I thought visiting teams tried to sell as many as they could (X), and then they returned the unsold portion of the allotment (4,000 - X). [Apologies for "fancy/fuzzy math".]
I find it hard to believe that they only "requested 2,200" - was this over and above their allotment?
On the otherhand, in my experience I'd say that Marshall and San Jose State brought more fans than k-who annually does.
-
Schools can request fewer tickets, and I believe ku has done this the last several times in Manhattan. I saw where someone said that this was mentioned in the TCJ.
The primary excuse I've seen besides the usual, is that the game was so early in the year, and so 2 or 3 months simply wasn't enough time to sell 2200 tickets.

Spend all your money on Shocker football tickets?

I need to buy three. Trying to decide if I should buy from these, or get some at the game.
It would be a no brainer but three is a crappy number to buy from scalpers.
-
Are they really $75.00 a piece? I just got a call from a ku fan wanting to get his hands on a ticket. He was told the tickets being released tomorrow were $75.00. Was that the original price? Hilarious is true. Screw 'em.

I thought they were $70 (plus some service charge). [I think our Texas tickets - last year - were $75...and worth every penny.]
-
Once they heard they had to pay for this game, they backed out and decided if they were going to pay they'd rather dress up all medieval and go to the Reneissance Fair.
-
1. The tickets they sell through the ku athletic department are $70 a piece. You could go to the game and buy a much better ticket from a scalper for less than that.
2. Manhattan is a much more hostile environment towards ku fans than Lawrence is when K-State fans come to town. Your school centers around hating ku, and a lot of ku fans have had bad experiences in Manhattan.
3. ku's games vs. Central Michigan and Toledo had better attendance than any of K-State's home games this season.

1. Probably hard to fathom a $70 price when season tickets to the ku relay stadium cost $100.
2. I can't imagine having a good experience in Manhattan if I were a ku fan watching that mess score no touchdowns in a decade.
3. The bandwagon is hot as long as the weather is nice and the game is at home vs. a beatable opponent.
-

Probably because ku fans don't go to their home games either (except for a bunch of high schoolers who tear down goalposts.)

Yes, scalpers usually do sell tickets below face value for a sold out game. Especially good ones.

Wrong. K-state fans get treated horribly at ku games. I've been spit on and someone tried to hit me after the game in 2004. I did nothing to egg it on. It's pathetic that ku can't even sell 2,000 tickets to this game.

We hate gay people and so does God. It's God's wrath that makes ku fans so uncomfortable in Manhattan.

I've tailgated with K-State fans before the game, and none of them were treated horribly. The game itself can get rowdy, but you don't see people instigating fights with K-State fans and throwing out obscenities like you do when ku comes to Manhattan. ku is just a more friendly atmosphere in general, and K-State fans love coming to a real college town to watch a game of football.
I can't say the same for K-State.

This is the argument that you continue to make as if it has some bearing on the game (your Super Bowl) on Oct. 6 or that it really is a valid way to gauge fan support. Give me a f-ing break man.

He does have a point. Their fans were very accommodating to ours as we tore their goal posts down.

Intimidation.

3. ku's games vs. Central Michigan and Toledo had better attendance than any of K-State's home games this season.
Hmmmmm. Interesting that you leave the SE La game out of your numbers.
ku average attendance after three games = 46,280
KSU average attendance after two games = 46,815
One of our two games has been against 1AA Missouri State, and I included that game. Why aren't you including your 1AA?
After adjusting for ku's obligatory attendance inflation, I'd say it's safe to assume their actual average attendance is closer to 40K.
Nice try though d-bag.

I dont think we can say that anymore since they didn't buy all their tickets. If it was their superbowl then you would think they would be killing people for those tickets. Their internet "fans" on the other hand it is their superbowl!!!!!!!! :ksu:

I call BS on this. I always tailgate with a bunch of ku fans (friends from high school and their ku friends) in Manhattan for ku-KState and I have never seen any of them have a bad experience or get any grief from K-State fans. Sure, they'll get a few words here and there just as I have received in Lawrence. It didn't bother me one bit in either place as it was never confrontational and I don't get up in a tizzy if I hear a curse word. It's usually done in good fun. If you aren't a douche bag while in Manhattan...I know this is tough for ku fans, you won't get much grief.

I think those referring to your douchebaggery are right on the money. Your thoughts above lead to the sh*t people get themselves into at games. I've seen all kinds of KSU fans treated like crap at ku games in Lawrence. Lose the arrogant attitude and you wouldn't have the problem. It's really too bad ku fans suck so bad.

HAHA QF for &@#%ing T. this is funny you mention this because i go to a school in shawnee mission and the thing to do on saturdays is head to lawrence and go to the game, especially our football players. When they tore down the goalposts last year, pretty much all the ones on the south end were from my school. i just told them that that field rushing was horrible. our field rush against texas is what its all about.

There are ZERO excuses for this if ku fans actually believe they have a team that can beat us this year.
It's becoming obvious they don't though.
The day KSU has to give tickets(275 of only 2200) back to ku...nevermind it won't happen. We have real fans.

I just remember in 2005 when we took those 5 ku fans, tarred and feathered them and then drove their BMW's into Tuttle....good times.

JCCC-Ler's and their ilk operate with a simple set of instructions. Say something enough times, and it is absolute fact, and everyone else will agree.
Some Examples:
1. Everyone loves Lawrence KANSAS. People who live on beaches in San Diego, or Hawaii . . . People who live in some of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world, to the quaintest most picturesque of towns and villages . . . to a person. If they hear, learn of, or visit Lawrence, KANSAS; all will long for and wish they lived there.
2. ku is a great school.
3. ku fans are the coolest, classiest people in all of college fandom, and everyone who visits ku sporting events as an opposing fan will only deal with the most well meaning of people. Everyone at places like KSU are only looking for fights, to damage vehicles and treat every visitor with the utmost of disdain and disrespect. To "prove" this, they'll offer nothing but a continous stream of anecdotes; and if similar anecdotes are spoken about ill treatment on the part of ku fans towards visitors. An onslaught of denials, scoffing and pooh-poohing will ensue. Which of course leads one back to the primary driver for all JCCC-Ler's, "Say it early, say it often, and make it the truth".
-

What's really funny about this, is the last time I personally saw crap between ku an KSU fans in Manhattan, it was started by a ku fan for mocking a KSU fan walking by wearing a "Rock Choke chickenhawk, &@#% ku" shirt.
It ended with the ku fan getting knocked the &@#% out. If he would have just kept his mouth shut, he'd've been fine.
The only other occurance of anything physical I've ever seen between ku and KSU is that picture that's circulated the internet for years of the two girls pissing on a ku truck. Anything else, was just cursing... in which case, grow up, wipe the sand from the vag, and stop being a pussy.
It's a football game. This ain't intramurals brotha.
-
Facts are facts, ku returns 275 of a paltry total of tickets= Fans who think they have no chance of winning. I have been to every KSU- ku game since 1970 and really can't remember a decent ku turnout in Manhattan. Imagine what Arrowhead will be like when ku and MU play? 60,000 MU fans, 15,000 empty seats and a few friends of departing Coach Mangino. ku will be 6-5 heading into that game with wins over Iowa State and Baylor.

That picture has been photoshopped a lot and you can find it with most schools on either side. I think it originated somewhere in the SEC or Texas but that's just my guess.

damn, i've had the thing emailed to me a million times, and now I can't find it.

ku fans have been really really really mean to me the last couple times I've been there.
"frack kstate! frack kstate!"
Agree to disagree. I went to the '96 game and I met a pretty nice ku fan. We talked a little about K-State football. Then I banged her.
liar.
I'll tell you all about it tomorrow at work. I'll bring pics.
ban this fracker for not posting pics here

Are you sure you actually had sex with her, and didn't just hump her belly button or something?
Probably did the roll in flour, aim for the wetspot..

2. Manhattan is a much more hostile environment towards ku fans than Lawrence is when K-State fans come to town. Your school centers around hating ku, and a lot of ku fans have had bad experiences in Manhattan.
We hate gay people and so does God. It's God's wrath that makes ku fans so uncomfortable in Manhattan.
QFT.

Bottom line, not many ku fans want to spend time in that dump of a town you call Manhattan. There are better places to watch the game than that concrete landfill that you renamed Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
LOL @ ku football owning K-State for over 100 years. All-time series: ku 63 KSU 36

ku fans don't like Manhattan? Wow.

Yep, you can always spend the day on the West Side of Lawrence watching the old Co-Op plant rust.

Yep, you can always spend the day on the East Side of Lawrence watching the old Co-Op plant rust.
Or beating someone with the butt end of your pistol. Or robbing someone with a steel pipe. Or...ya, ku fan is right, people in Manhattan are just too mean to put up with during a football game.

FBI: Violent crime on rise in Lawrence, Douglas County
By Jonathan Kealing
September 24, 2007
The Federal Bureau of Investigation Monday released statistics that show violent crime in Lawrence and Douglas County nearly doubled between 2005 and 2006.
Lawrence saw three murders or negligent homicides in 2006, versus two in 2005. The largest increase came from aggravated assaults. There were 203 reported in 2005, versus 370 reported in 2006. There were a total of 500 violent crimes reported in Lawrence, more than any other Kansas city except Wichita, Kansas City, Kan., and Topeka.
In Douglas County, there 34 violent crimes reported, up from 19 in 2005. There was one murder and two forcible rapes, up from zero the year before, as well as a sizable increase in aggravated assault there as well. The Douglas County number is sixth out of the 14 counties in Kansas the FBI considers metropolitan.

The increase was due to the KSU fans visiting Lawrence for the game last year.

" The only other occurance of anything physical I've ever seen between ku and KSU is that picture that's circulated the internet for years of the two girls pissing on a ku truck. "
Well of course anything physical off the field.....The Cats have out-physicaled the Hawks all over the field in the last 15 years.....For one thing how many ku QBs have we injured during the Showdown? I know they haven't done anything to ours.
PS - Props to the ladies urinating on the ku truck......

Wow, more relevant arguments from you - idiot. :ustupid: :ustupid: :ustupid:
Hmmm that 1957 game really influences how bad we are gonna kick your a%$ during your Super Bowl, that your fans won't even attend. Also, I heard our stadium is much more of a home field advantage, not because we don't have a "sweet" track around it like you or an "awesome" bell on top of a hill....Nope because our fans are louder, prouder, more intelligent, better people, need I go on????
