Title: Kansas Sports Talk Radio
Post by: sonofdaxjones on September 25, 2007, 03:48:04 PM
I tune into Keitzman and he's haranguing the commissioner of the Nobody Gives a F_ck Soccer League about why David Beckham doesn't travel around with the team even if he's injured and sign autographs . . . so I go to WIBW and it's Greg "I'm a ku Fan now" Sharpe and Bruce Stainbrock talking for 10 minutes about Dancing with the Stars.

Geezus that's sad.

Where I live you get two sports radio stations both 24/7/365 Corn Football.  It could be the opening day of the NCAA BBall Tourney and you won't get anything but Corn Football.  The only exception is the College World Series IF the Corn are in it.

I'd rather have that than Keitzman being a dick to the Commissioner of the Nobody Gives a F_ck Soccer League and/or the WIBW chumps talking "Dancing with the Stars" in the middle of the football season.

WIBW is worthless.  Don't even bother.  After Greg Sharp said he was dissapointed that we didn't give Steve Henson a look for head bball coach, that was it for me.

KK is still the best thing going.  MLS sucks, but they have to fill time somehow.  It could be worse...the racin' boys could be on.  Now that is crap radio.

KSU'ers who listen to 580am are what's wrong with the KSU fan base.  They're the type of people that seriously wanted Steven Henson or Rolando Blackman as basketball coach.

Yep, sad.  I've been listening before when they'd whip out the breakdown of DWS.  I immediately switched the channel to listen to Eugenia the pet psychiatrist.

This is the first I've listened to Sharpe since his Henson for KSU coach crying, and I doubt I'll be back for awhile, maybe for a few minutes next week to see if there's any KSU-ku talk, but then again is there any events at Heartland Park??

Sharpe: I was kinda hoping that Rolando would get a shot at the job.

Caller: Yeah, I know.  I mean, couldn't Rolando recruit on name recognition alone?

Sharpe: Exactly.  And why not at least get some feelers out there to see if Lon Kruger wants to come home.

I don't know.  I kind of like how KK is totally ignorant about racing and always makes comments that the racin' boys think are just ridiculous.

There is no doubt that KK is the best in the biz.

My problem with KK is that they still talk about all kinds of other BS during Football Season . . . I am listening to Billy Packer's kid out of Charlotte, and that show is almost exclusively football this time of year, and with 80% of that being college football.

I do appreciate how Keitzman pisses off the JCCC-L fans though.

I like when KK weaves into a conversation some shot at Mangino and his salary and how he's overpaid for his sucky results.

What else is there to talk about? ku has the Big12 wrapped up, the Chiefs have turned it around and will win the SB easily, and this week we are going to lose to TX by 100,000 points because we stink.

I don't even listen to WIBW or 810 anymore.  I quit 810 a couple of years ago when all they could do was argue with each other about stuff I could care less about anyway.  WIBW is just a bunch of ku homers now.  I tune into 1350 KMAN and if they are talking KSU sports on "The Game" I listen to that, they do a much better job of covering the Cats.  Especially on Monday when they have Wildcat Insider from 4-6.  Those of you outside of Manhattan should listen online, very worthwhile.

If 1350 is your nirvana of sports radio, you need to see the rest of the world...or at least the rest of Wamego.

Can you pick up 1350 that far away?
