The Longhorns are 4-0 with unimpressive wins over Arkansas State, tcu and UCF as well as a win over a bad Rice team. How unimpressive have the Horns been? They struggled to beat three of those four teams whose records combined are 5-9.
QB Colt McCoy has completed 67% of his passes so far in 2007 with 7 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. He threw 2 INT's vs. Arkansas State and 2 INT's vs. tcu. Hopefully for the Longhorns sake he stays healthy because Jevan Snead, who played the majority of the game last season, transferred to Ole Miss.
RB Jamaal Charles has 471 yards (5.5 yards/carry) rushing and 6 touchdowns already. Last season he had 87 yards and 2 touchdowns vs. the Cats.
Charles will run behind a fairly experienced offensive line. RG Cedric Dockery, LT Tony Hills and RT Adam Ulatoski all return. Dallas Griffin takes over at C and Chris Hall is a newcomer at LG. They have had some trouble though because McCoy has been sacked four times in four games.
WR's Nate Jones and Quan Cosby (who will also return kicks) form a formidable receiving duo. Jones is averaging 9.8 yards/catch with 2 touchdowns and Cosby averages 8.2 yards/catch with 1 touchdown reception. I haven't even mentioned WR Limas Sweed (17.8 yards/catch), RB Chris Ogbonnaya (13.6 yards/catch), WR Jordan Shipley (11.8 yards/catch) or RB Antwan Cobb (16 yards/catch) who have all caught passes from McCoy.
The defensive line returns NT Derek Lokey and DT Frank Okam. The linebackers return Rashad Bobino, Robert Killebrew and Scott Derry as well as Jared Norton, Sergio Kindle and Roddrick Muckelroy who all had great springs. The secondary had a complete overhaul in the offseason with only FS Marcus Griffin returning.

UCF is a solid top 40 team.
The murdered tcu and Rice. (yes, the 4th quarter does count)
The only unimpressive they had was arkie state.

And, Ark St hung 27 at Tennessee. Texas has it's most inexperienced team under Mack but they're getting better each game. At one pt last night, I believe UT fielded an offense made up of 11 freshman.
Fatty is right about UCF and Texas was a thread away from blowing them out.
Texas needs to focus on KSU and not overlook them because of blow U. I think Texas will do that which is bad for KSU but at least the fans will get to come to Austin. :)

Are the two wins we had over UT (fb and mbb) last year considered "thread" wins?
That aside, this will be our toughest game, or "Super Bowl" of the regular season again. Giving yards away will make the loss even worse than it will be. We need to use the Callahan approach of keeping it close.
