Title: Best Players in the State of Kansas
Post by: WorldWideBalla21 on September 19, 2007, 01:21:24 PM
This is my unbiased opinion.

1. Michael Beasley (B EZ, Ma where you at?)
2. PJ Couisnard (Beastly, go ahead and frack me on this one)
3. Mario Chalmers (Only player on ku's team who's not overrated)
4. Bill Walker (would be higher, but coming off injury, still better than Rush)
5. Brandon Rush (overrated)
6. David Hoskins (Warrior)
7. Doug Moore (Emporia State)

There is a reason he is playing D-2.

I would rather have Arthur any day. IMO

3)arthur?
4)chalmers
5)Hoskins

jmo. fire away.

I might flip 3 and 4, but that is pretty close. IMO

I hope you know I was kidding about Doug Moore. And if you were I'm sorry, I suck at sensing sarcasm.

lol at Rush or Chalmers over Walker. He was predicted to be drafted in the lottery before his injury. Neither Chalmers nor Rush had such an honor. Also, RusRob being in the top 5 is a joke.

Did Arthur get really good this offseason or something?

cousinard is a solid player but he lacks some of the skill.  i would move him below chalmers, rush, arthur and walker but still ahead of hoskins.

What he lacks is a consistent jumper. Still though he is imo the best slasher in Kansas and probably in the entire MVC. He's basically a smaller but more athletic Hoskins. Couisinard also led the team in rebounds and assists last year. Oh and he is the only good player returning for WSU so that means lots of points.

hes not the only good player returning.  if he was the best slasher in kansas he would without a doubt be the best slasher in the mvc, which he is.  hes a much better all around player than hoskins as you just admitted in your post.  he does lack a consistent jumper but he has been clutch and hits them when the team needs it.  i was at the regional in greensboro and witnessed him win the tennessee game for wsu.  hes not a big time scorer hes to well rounded of a player.  i would be surprised if he averages over 15 points a game, not saying he cant but i dont think he will b/c he is not that type of player.

Well Ogirri transferred, Kyle Wilson is gone, Karon Bradley is gone. All that's left is Phil Thommoson, Gal Mekel (Might stay in Isreal), Matt Brauer, and PJ. So three of the top 4 scorers are gone. I agree w/ everything else you said, except I do see him easily scoring 15ppg+. Gregg Marshall likes a more uptempo style too and this will work in PJ's favor. I see him scoring around 15-20ppg just because he will have to carry the workload.

i think that mekel, if he comes back, will eventually be a hell of a player for them and brauer is a capable scorer who will probably have to step up and score more this year.  pj will probably average right at 15 a game and will certainly have some big games for them but he will be without a doubt the focal point of the opposing teams D every game.  one other thing i have noticed about pj is that he sometimes is not as good of a finisher when he attacks the basket.  hes athletic but hes not quite athletic enough to take it to that next level.
