Title: The sad thing about beating Texas
Post by: McGrowlTowelZac on September 18, 2007, 08:29:40 PM
If we beat texas, then the following week they will lose to OU(badly), and probably to a few more teams this year.  So while it will be great at the time if it should happen (they should still be a top 10 team), by seasons end it won't be that great a win...minus the fact it contributes to our owning of Texas.

Plus, you know, there's that thing about winning against Texas being bad for our program in the long run....you know...there's that.

I said 'if'

Besides, I don't think us feeling confident will curse us...the players sound confident.

Plus, you know, there's that thing about winning against Texas being bad for our program in the long run....you know...there's that.

thats the really sad part

whether they self destruct later, we still beat a top ten team two years in a row.  HUGE.  And it will have been on the road.

We will definitely beat Texas.  I can't remember the last time we lost to a suddenly vulnerable traditional power on the road.

Beating a top 5 team would hurt us more than it would help us anyway. [/jayhox]

UCF is actually pretty damned good. They beat NC StATE @ NC State.

Me thinks we are underrating Texas. They are Texas for &@#% sake.

NC State is pretty bad.. no.. horrible.

But KSU should not go into this thinking they will just win it.  Texas may just ass rape us.   :ohno:

It's still a pretty good win imo. I thought UCF was just awful.

QFT.  Everyone who thinks this is a 'should-win' is nuts.

Texas has talent out the ass(We celebrate when we get their leftovers LOL), and Mack isn't exactly a bad coach.  Did I mention it's in Austin and it's a revenge game for them?

We can win, but we probably won't.

If you mean UCF beat themselves, then yes.  I just hope we don't do the same thing.

This was sarcasm.  I don't think we're going to beat Texas on the road.  Of course we could, but we probably won't.

I looked up "suddenly vulnerable traditional power" in my Veiled Reference Handbook and saw an eagle.  Or a tiger.  It was blurry.

Well, OK, you can ignore facts, then.

Anyway, to the original point--yes, it may not be that big of a deal to beat us this year.  Hard to figure why the problems exist in the magnitude that they do.

That's probably one of the worst all-time records for any program against K-State. Congrats!

Been lurking here for quite some time.  Know plenty of the WZ posters here.

That, and the Endzone Dive board has some talent and quite hilarious threads to boot.

So now we're talking about basketball?

And one season = ownership?

Just clarifying.

This concept of ownership is constantly being redefined.  Now it is how many players on the current team played back in 2003?

Look, whatever.  Either way you have a chance to win, as does any decent opponent.  If nothing else, unless you are awful, horribly bad, you'll keep it close.

And again, if you come down to Austin, I hope you have a great visit.

chance,
Ask around, please.  It's fairly common knowledge that KSU owns Texas.  OWNS.

Here's a few names give Longhorns fits during their sleepless nights:
Jeremiah Massey
Josh Freeman
Yamon Figurs
Mark Simoneau
.
.
.

If you don't know this, you should pay closer attention.  :-[

combination of a Cormac McCarthy character and what the character does, and a bit of a play on a WarZone poster's handle.

Chigurh is a character in "No Country For Old Men," a quick read that I would recommend.  The Coen Brothers are releasing their movie version in November.  If Chigurh makes you "call it" on a coin flip, you better hope that chance has favored you.

ask around

I have, and strangely nobody but this board answers in the affirmative.  Also, I checked Texas boards to see if there were any posts about KSU, and gee, not much.  Then I look at the near obsession here with the "horns down" emoticons, and one has to wonder who owns who.

I keep having to explain that I came here because of another poster who's stuff I like, and then I enjoyed the Endzone Dive stuff thoroughly.  Have KSU friends, believe it or not. As well, MJ (your admin here) is the admin at the Warzone, and there are quite often links to this site posted on that one.   And again, you're changing the terms of the argument, but oh well, I "tap out."  You own us.  That's why we have purple shirts that say "Kansas State Funts," and photochopped pics of de-clawed cats.

Oh wait a minute, we don't.

Sorry, keep getting off topic.
