Damn did you ever see a team just sit back and relax as much as the USC did once they had Cornholed the Cornholers??
Must be a California thing.

Yes, about 1988 or so when Oklahoma was in town.

This game never had any business as being marketed as a top match up of two elite teams. NU just isn't that team anymore and I don't see them becoming that again as long as Callahan is their coach. As I said before the game it was a better game match up wise last year. Since then USC has improved and NU isn't as good as they were. They're very lucky Bryan Skinner got hurt if he hadn't they'd be 1-2.
The college football media loves their traditional powers but I think even they are probably getting to the point where they are tired of billing NU as an elite team when they have not win a big game in over 5 years. I think last night was a bad night for NU and Callahan perception wise. This is his fourth year he has his own guys the excuses are gone. NU fans kept saying wait for him to get his own guys well he has them now and the talent level on defense is the lowest it's been since he's been there.

Well, the players didn't do it, but Barry Switzer and staff always had huge hangovers.
