Did you see Purdue lead CMU 38-0 at the half?
LOL's at ku giving up a 100 yard rusher today.

yep...Purdueski got bored and CMU piled up some yardage. Chips were bound to be better in game 3 especially w/ as many returning starters.
Another LOL stat...Reesing sacked 4 times tonight by Toledo. :ohno:

Dang, his Heisman chances just took a hit.
-
Purdue was up on CMU 31-0 at half. ku was up on CMU 35-0 at half.
Reesing had 313 yards passing with 4 TD's tonight. At least 6 of his passes were dropped by a receiver. He still has yet to throw an interception this season.
LOL @ only beating your D-1AA opponent 61-10.
16 penalties for 162 yards = undisciplined football team

Just imagine how amazing we will be when we stop doing that.
WOW.

It sure doesn't take much to get BMW reeled in does it?

You gave up 10 points to a D-1AA opponent. Come on now...

Too bad Toledo ran all over your D.

Yeah . . . 10 points, woo-hoo, Mo State dominated us.
We suck.
:frown:

Too bad Toledo ran all over your D.
Yeah, our third stringers need to work on that this week. Toledo had 4 first downs after three quarters against our starters. Darn Mangino for getting our scrubs some work, we want STATS!

Yeah, quite the front seven there. LOL.

It's going to be funny seeing how Reesing reacts when he actually has some pressure to pass against. You've played absolutely no one..and at home....
Let's see..crapty CMU at home
SE Louisian at home
Toledo at home...
off
then @ Kstate?
Not even a comparison. A real reality check of how good you guys are is coming October 6th. Reesing aint gonna be all world in conference.
-
Does Reesing always throw a wobbly ball? I haven't seen all of his passes obviously, but the last two weeks on the Saturday sports shows all I've seen is the Reesing throwing some real ducks.
I mean, they DO get to the receiver in stride and he does seem to play well. Just a strange anomaly I suppose?
-
He throws more of a lame duck knuckleball that has been rumored to kill young children.
-
No that's a Freeman toss. I'm talking about Reesing.

So you're saying your receivers suck?

C'mon you forgot FIU next week...Just we're off loafing doesn't mean the powerhouses take time off from their power schedule. Damn, can't believe Mangina is taking on a Florida school. :ohno:
That's an away game, right?

No, they host them..in the friendly confines of Memorial...then, in two weeks, wehn the place is loud as hell and htey can't hear signals...we'll find out if Reesing can consistently make plays under pressure.

They will be able to simulate that kind of noise like we did in their indoor practice facility. :blindfold:

Better than 8 ()
-
6 of ku's 8 sacks were vs SELA
20 of ku's 29 TLF were vs SELA.
If only ku can play SELA 12 times.

speaking of stat sheet stuffers.
Did you notice this?
Rushing for Auburn...
vs. KSU: 62 on 37 carries for 1.7 ypc
vs. USF: 125 on 35 carries for 3.6 ypc
vs. MSU: 216 on 46 carries for 4.7 ypc

We didn't allow enough rushing yards. :'(

If this is true...seriously, this is quite encouraging to me.
I can see Freeman picking your D apart in a couple of weeks then.

I think just about any ku fan will tell you their biggest point of concern coming into this season was how well our DE's step up. Against the run, our line has been solid to this point; we get a good push on the line (both CMU and Toledo had respectable size on the lines) filling the holes and not leaving much running room. The run defense shows signs of being just as stout as it has been the past couple of years.
However, ku hasn't been good about getting the sack with their pass rush, which is the same issue as last year. ku has been better about getting into the backfield; they are also collapsing the pocket well and it's obvious that ku has been stronger then the opponents lines. However, ku's defenders seem to consistantly be a half step slow or seem to just miss getting the QB in their grasp. We've gotten plenty of QB hurries, but they just aren't sealing the deal. Part of that may be due to the dink and dunk nature of the opponents' offenses to this point. The other teams are getting rid of the ball quickly. ku has pretty good pass efficiency defensive numbers... their opponents simply haven't been able to pass downfield. Since this seems to be ksu's strategy on offense as well- many short passes supplemented with a running game, it's safe to assume ku might struggle to get to Freeman as well. Of course the short passing game hasn't really worked against ku so far (and yes, ksu will be a better barometer) and we are pretty solid against the run. Should be an interesting match up at least.
The jury is definately out on ku's DE's- while they show some promise, they absolutely have plenty of room to improve. Heading into Big XII play, when we won't be able to simply overpower the competition, that is by far this ku fan's biggest worry. I'm not sure we have enough speed off the edge from our starters.

Covering the reciever issue was always terrifying to me when we had the likes of Louis Lavender and that Jesse Tetuan back there - I never felt solid with either one... yes they both had glimpses of being a bad - ass, but never much consistancy. A valid worry would be Reesing's passing - wounded ducks will be devoured by the carnivours in our secondary :chainsaw:... if you all had ONE good game of competition, that would be a decent barometer - I am pretty worked up about the ku/KSU game

Rumor has it Jeff Boschee always loved young children..... :yuck: :yuck: :yuck:
