Title: phog board: athletic freak alert...
Post by: The Manhatter on September 15, 2007, 10:20:35 AM
Maxwell Onyegbule...Redshirt Freshman DE.

per beaks he is an example of why ku much improved. The fact that such a "Freak" is not starting early in his career when he would have started 5 years ago is proof they have arrived.

 :loly:

FACT from nike combine...

Eric Childs: ht 6-2.5...wt 196...40 4.63
Maxwell Onyegbule: ht 6-3.5...wt 198...40 5.02

5.02 is a "freak"?

glad no KSU fans are referring to Childs as a "freak".

If he would have started 5 seasons ago and doesn't now, then yea they've gotten stronger or deeper at his position.

I don't like to admit it, but their program has improved greatly in the last 5 seasons.

Not contending they aren't better than 5 years ago...LOL'ing at calling the kid a "freak".  "Freak" athletes run better than 5.02 in the 40 at 198lbs in high school.

Just because he looks like a freak athlete doesn't mean he is one.

Guys like Smoke and LaMark on the other hand...

Let's wait until Lamark catches a football before we crown him a "freak."  Until then, he just "looks" the part.

A player's 40-time in high school is the end all, be all when it comes to evaluating talent.

I would say Auburn down 10-0 to a god awful Mississippi State is just as bad as CMU's performance right now.

key word: "FREAK"

freaks have speed.  A 198lb kid runs better than a 5.02 if he's a "FREAK".

thanks for checking in.

He's up to 6'3 240 and has recorded a couple sacks and a safety in limited playing time.  Forget about what guys do on the field, it's all about their high school 40-times.

fatty could get a few sacks vs. CMU or 1AA(1st year of CFB in '03) SE La.

Again..."FREAK" athletes have speed.  They are not <200lbs running >5.00 40's.

It's pretty easy to figure out.

Oh and congrats to Mad Max on the weight gain and sacks vs. air.

Also, forget about the competition, cause stats regardless of playing against nobodies mean everything.

It doesn't seem to matter who the competition is.  Anthony Webb, true freshman CB, had 2 INT's and a TD vs. K-State last season, yet all K-State fans claim he sucks.  Yeah, starting at cornerback as a true freshman is easy.  Great stuff.

I could have picked off Freeman last year.

At KSU we're more worried about how a player looks than how he plays.  It's more important that the player look like a player, rather than be one.  Also, nice calves are important.

he does suck.  LOL at how he got those int's...one was a terribly underthrown ball when a one-legged Jordy burned him badly on a deep out...the other was a volleyball tip drill by midget Patton.  It's not like he made "great plays" and he must have been good when he was against Gonzales all day w/ ku stacking the box and blitzing due to the knowledge KSU had zero healthy vertical threats.

Boy...that was tough to figure out.

Anthony Webb's situation isn't much different than Josh Freeman's.  Both had their ups and downs, but in the end, both should be good players by the time all is said and done.

Well, I will say that yardage is evenly matched....versus, say, the CMU v. Purdue game where CMU appears to be D2 quality.

What do Webb's calves look like?

More importantly, when Webb throws the ball, does he pronate his non-throwing hand well?  Also, how tall is he?
