Interesting...
Missouri State (2-0) at Kansas State (1-1), 7 p.m.
The buzz: This is one of eight games against I-AA schools for the Big 12 this season.
The line: No line. | The pick: K-State 23-14.

KSU-42
MSU-14
I would have it closer but they live and die by the run....And I have a lot of confidence in our run Defense :ksu:
-
48-24 Cats.
The former ku coach is running a slick spread offense running game and it will probably give us some fits (they score 55 PPG). But I don't think they'll be able to stop us either (they've given up 30 PPG against 1-AA teams). At all.
We'll have meltdown(s) of significant proportions on how our defense stinks afterwards.
-
We have always been horrible against spreads.
38-24. Meltdown, moral victory for squawks everywhere.

you're taking idiocy to a whole new level. that's so inaccurate it's not even funny.

qfffft.
1)no spreads for 1-aa games
2)we've been good vs the spread since 1993
3)we are 2-0 vs the spread this year

I'm already prepping for mine.
-
Didn't Prince say we were moving to the 3-4 to help defend the number of spread offenses we see?

Tech's really the only one that's consistently given trouble.
-
Mizzou Last year, ku last year, Tech forever, OU 00-01, pretty much every one we've played since they became abundant in the big 12.
-
Okie State?

MU has been running a spread for as long as Pinkel's been there, so has ku since Mangino. CU last year, OSU, last year, Baylor has always ran a spread, you're stupid, etc.
Consistent.
-
I know a kid that plays for Missou state and he said he'd be happy to keep it w/in 3 TD's.
-
goodness people if you think Missouri State is going to score 20 plus on us then how many do you think Missouri is going to score? I don't think our peformance against the spread in the past is relevant to this game because:
1. It's 1aa talent running the spread not Chase Daniel, Martin Rucker, Chase Coffman, Will Franklin etc.
2. totally new defense and cordinator and the d is designed to defend these type of attacks.
If this one is close that is a bad bad sign for us. San Jose would beat Missouri State by 20 plus points as would Central Michigan or a lot of the teams we've made fun of ku and NU for playing in week 1. Have no idea what the score will be because a lot of factors can affect scores but this shouldn't be a contest.
-
just curious, did we play Ill st when they had Tony Romo?

MU's spread with brad smith was a joke. Brandon Jackson and CU running spread last year is a joke, Baylor LOL, OSU ran the ball twice as much as they threw it against us so I don't if I'd call that a spread.
Stick to bball and stats blogs.

Yes in 02.

God you're stupid. Did you realize the Missouri State spread offense you fear so much has ran the ball 109 times and passed 41? And LOL @ only counting "good" spread offenses.
-
Tech is a spread, OU was a spread, Mizzou is a spread with Chase daniels Smith's senior year was the first time they really ran a spread and I remember them moving the ball pretty well including the drive that brad smith threw the stupid pick. I'll give you OSU but it's not like we shut down their offense that game. CU last year? LOL.
Ok, we've been dominating spread offenses the last 7 years. Where did I say that I fear Mizzou st.? All I said was we've sucked against the spread since they came around in 00'ish.

I don't think it will be close, but I think MSU will score some points over the course of the game. I suppose I could be underestimating our defense, but games like this can be interesting. And the difference is that MSU's MO is to run the ball out of the spread, which can cause some problems. I hope we'll be fine and hold them under 14, but I think they'll probably score 10-14 against our 1s as we build a significant lead, and then score a couple in the 4th to make the score worse than it really is. Plus, this will be the first time with this talent for the new defense to face this type of offense, and we really won't face a spread run offense the rest of the year b/c most will try to pass out of it. I'm assuming this will be the type of offense Urban Meyer ran at Utah.

I'll go with this one as well.

You also have to factor in the fact that althought Terry never came close to beating the Wildcats as a 1-A coach (average score 49-10), he is 1-0 vs the Cats as a 1-AA coach (10-8 score, against Snyder no less). So he does have that going for him.

If K-State can't beat a D-1AA opponent coached by Terry Allen at home by at least 50 points, you guys are in for some serious trouble.

I don't think we're in SERIOUS trouble. Just like beating them by 50 doesn't mean that we're back, see N Texas 05. Beating up on horrible teams tells you nothing of your own team.
-
I love listening to ku fans talk about Terry Allen.

LOL....We will be just fine. If I remember correctly, Terry Allen never beat KSU as a ku coach. Why there is no love for him thru the ku faithfull is beyond me. He was a much cheaper coach then Mangino and they have the same win percentage...AD = bad job for ku

The North was a beast when Allen was at ku....
ku played real schools in the non con under Allen....
Just like they are under fatboy, ku was an average non con team and below average conference team under Allen....
Besides some nostril cleansing T.A. did nothing to bring shame to ku like the tub of goo has....

How many ranked north opponents did Allen face?
Mangino?

K-State 51
Mizz State 7

After ku fires Mangino, they will throw him under the bus, too.

Perkins is a genius......the economic impact of Mangino vs. Booger is huge.....at the grocery stores!
