Any (actual) students hear about this?
The Kansas State University Police Department will have a special underage alcohol enforcement team this football season. The focus for this year is to limit the underage drinking in the parking lots prior to kickoff. The alcohol enforcement team will be proactive in identifying and arresting underage drinkers. The cost related to being charged with Minor in Possession is as follows.
First time offenders: Fine $200.00 plus court cost of $135.00 Plus the suspension of the offender’s driver’s license.
Second offense: $300.00 plus court cost $135.00 plus the suspension of the offender’s driver’s license for 90 days.
Third offense: $400.00 Plus court cost of $135.00 plus the suspension of the offender’s driver’s license for at least one year.

How can they snag a drivers license for minor in possession?

How can they snag a drivers license for minor in possession?
No kidding. Three words: Non moving violation
-
Instead of boycotting the game (which won't do anything), everyone park somewhere free or not run by the school, or just walk from wherever you live if you are a student. As soon as the parking lots only start filling up a quater of what they normally do they'll back off on the alcohol regulation.
:beerchug: :beerchug: :beerchug: :beerchug: :beerchug: :beerchug: :beerchug:
-
For those of you that want to boycott, can I borrow your towel?
-
I already had this discussion on GPC, but boycotting the game is a dumb idea. You paid for football tickets, and it's K-state football, not the police that would be affected by a boycott.
I really don't feel like reposting my feelings on how retarded it is that you can die for the country at 18(and even 17 in some cases) but can't drink a beer until you're 21. Self explanatory IMO.

(3) Upon a second conviction of a violation of this section, the court shall order the division of vehicles to suspend the driving privilege of such offender for 90 days. Upon receipt of the court order, the division shall notify the violator and suspend the driving privileges of the violator for one year whether or not that person has a driver's license.
(e) This section shall not apply to the possession and consumption of cereal malt beverage by a person under the legal age for consumption of cereal malt beverage when such possession and consumption is permitted and supervised, and such beverage is furnished, by the person's parent or legal guardian.
(f) Any city ordinance or county resolution prohibiting the acts prohibited by this section shall provide a minimum penalty which is not less than the minimum penalty prescribed by this section.
(g) A law enforcement officer may request a person under 21 years of age to submit to a preliminary screening test of the person's breath to determine if alcohol has been consumed by such person if the officer has reasonable grounds to believe that the person has alcohol in the person's body except that, if the officer has reasonable grounds to believe the person has been operating or attempting to operate a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, the provisions of K.S.A. 8-1012, and amendments thereto, shall apply. No waiting period shall apply to the use of a preliminary breath test under this subsection. If the person submits to the test, the results shall be used for the purpose of assisting law enforcement officers in determining whether an arrest should be made for violation of this section. A law enforcement officer may arrest a person based in whole or in part upon the results of a preliminary screening test. Such results or a refusal to submit to a preliminary breath test shall be admissible in court in any criminal action, but are not per se proof that the person has violated this section. The person may present to the court evidence to establish the positive preliminary screening test was not the result of a violation of this section.
(h) This section shall be part of and supplemental to the Kansas liquor control act.

Yeah, but some of us aren't as lucky as others.

Cops are generally horrible people based on my personal experiences.

Do it. You won't regret the badass story you have when your kids are in middle school and ask you if you've ever been arrested.
-

That's because calling them facists pigs, making fun of their mothers, and peeing on their squad car is not exactly friendly behavior.
Then screaming "RODNEY KING!! RODNEY KING" while they bash your face in doesn't help either.
BTW: You're 21.. why do you care what happens to the punk kids?

So you're going to marry a controlling woman with big boobs?
Dude, shoot for a higher bar.

So you're going to marry a controlling woman with big boobs?
Isn't that all that really matters in life?

I'm a leg and ass man.

Just keep it in a cup.
-
Well, that's going to decrease our student attendance by about 2,000. :crybaby:
-
I don't understand the university's and riley county's hard on for ruining the gameday experience. In 1996, extremely underage and with a full cup of beer , I had a conversation with a RCPD officer at the corner of Kimball and College as my friends were, in plain sight, unloading kegs out of the back of our trucks and into some trash cans full of ice...all he had to say was "have fun today". It wasn't like underage drinking was legal back then.

Hilarious burn my friend laid on me the other day:
setup- we were watching 'Weeds', getting high, and we both commented on Mary Louise Parker's milfatude. I said that I had always wanted to get with an older lady and that it was too bad that I would never get the opportunity. My buddy goes: "just wait ten years, then you'll get to sleep with an older chick all the time."
:lick:  :banghead:
-
Just keep it in a cup.
Yes...just keep it in a container other than the can or bottle it comes in, and don't do anything completely retarded to draw attention to yourself. If you don't create "reasonable suspicion" the cops won't have any reason to even mess with you.
Also if you are a college student who is not yet 21, but you still look like your 14...don't drink on state property (the parking lot of the stadium). If cops see someone who looks 14 holding a can on naty light...there going to get you.
Oh yeah...and don't boycott football...it's un-American.
-
Bout damn time. I'll be sure to be a good citizen and point out obvious offenders for Officer Friendly.
-
Why do you care Fatty? Aren't you like 22?

:'(
Dude, I think I saw your photo during the "Future Wildcats" segment on the jumbotron at last weeks game. :loly:
-
They began cracking down on drinks in 02 or 03 I think but they also said they weren't going to go around looking in cups or sniffing cups etc. Don't be blatant, they are easy to spot walking down the paths. Just don't have a bottle out in view and don't crack one open right in front of them.
-
&@#% that. Chug it in front of them and puke on their boots. &@#%ing pigs.
:jail:
-
can the cops go into that field directly north of the stadium? I got that email but I ignored it.
-
Also watch empty cans on the ground, bring a trashbag or 3.

I don't understand the university's and riley county's hard on for ruining the gameday experience.
The city of Manhattan has many older permanent citizens who mistakenly believe that the city of Manhattan would be better off if those damn college kids weren't around to piss in their bushes and walk through their grass. The do it through shady, backwards methods such as this and all of the other myriad ways they try to punish bars and liquor stores for even existing. These are the same people you see lamenting how Poyntz used to be so vibrant and full of wonde :billypopcorn:rful places to shop. It's all those damn kids and their damned shopping mall.
Honestly, I'd love to see what would happen to them after KSU packed its bags and everyone left. The town would be smaller than Junction City and it would be absolutely hilarious to watch them squirm in embarassment.

well put. i am also one this not a fan of all the "riley rats" but i understand that is why this town is booming right now and that can only be for the best, it can only help recruiting and create a bigger fan base.

Pigs suck.....
Could Poyntz ever have been that wonderful????
