first it was Webb in '06, then came Ryan Murphy in '07.
This year it's Ryan Glazer.

LOL. A KSU commit needs about 20 offers and from some BCS schools before a 4th star is granted...but "Crabby is homer for KSU commits/signees".

Interesting...last 4 star in the rankings...
20 offers and from some BCS schools
LOL...seriously...how long did it take for Harper to get that 4th?

The fact that he committed over three months ago may a just a smidge to do with that. Shame on ku for being a good evaluator of talent and snagging a guy before anyone else could get their hands on him.
-
Crabtree is just paving the way for his announcement that all-world TE Travis Tannahill will be a 5-star.

Generally, who has offered a kid has just as much to do with how many stars they have as talent does. While Mangino may have found a diamond in the rough, it is still surprising that a kid with one offer has 4 stars. Do you understand what I'm saying Sandman?

Webb was a 4-star?

Let me get this straight:
- We complain when it appears that an offer from a traditional power is needed to elevate star status.
- We complain when a player is rated highly despite no offers from traditional powers.
Crabby just can't win.

Apparently he's been doing very well.

I was wondering if anybody had any thoughts on this...ku football is trending up and it should help get great recruits, but right now, Mangino and his staff usually have to find "diamonds in the rough" or some guys the big football school don't pick up on.
At what point do we start to get the highly touted recruits, that want to come to ku? When will we start getting 5-star guys, and multiple ones at that. I know we pull in a few 4 start guys every year, but how does this change?
L  L
On second thought no way is this real. LOL though.

Webb was a 4-star?
Crabtree knows his stuff.
The guy is now the 4th CB on the depth chart. He's behind Talib, a true freshman and a JUCO transfer (out until conference play). He's competing with a RS freshman and a RB convert for the most backup reps.
