Title: ESPN/Scout Rankings
Post by: mobcat on May 14, 2006, 04:43:46 PM
ESPN and scout have evaluated some of our commitments.  Their system scores prospects from 50-100.  As close as I can tell this is how thier scorig relates to Rivals stars: 88+ is 5 star, 78+ is 4 star, 70+ is 3 star, and anything else is a 2 star.  Dee Bell scored a 77 which puts him on the borderline between 3 and 4 stars. Clyde Aufner, Payton Kirk, Colton Freeze, and J.J. Mullins all scored 73 placing them in the 3 star area.  Maybe the coaching staff is doing a little bit better job of evaluating talent then many of us want to give them credit for.

Gary Chandler is a stud.  I saw him play in HS and once against BuCo last year and the guy can play.  He needs to be offered because he will come in and could play right away for us no doubt he is that good.

Chicken and Egg.

Your going by Scouts rankings and they only give their stars to big name players.

You can tell recruiting is getting better.

Michael Keck (stud) got a 45, and Lamark Brown (our best commit) got a 40.

The scores of 45 and 40 are because they have not completed thier evaluation of Keck and they have not received an adequate amount of film for Brown.  I know these are not the greatest rankings in the World, but they are the only ones I have seen so far.
