Title: Texas?
Post by: fatty fat fat on September 09, 2007, 12:14:03 AM
Did anyone watch them? Can we beat them?

tcu bottled them up completely for ~ 3 quarters.  Then they blew up.  I think our offense is better than tcu's.  But it will be tough to pull off the upset.

They are beatable, yes.  By us?  Eh, maybe.  I'll probably take us to cover, let's leave it at that.

tcu's defense really stifled them for the majority of that game.  I think we can compete on that side of the ball.  Obviously, we can not have the interceptions or penalties that we've seen so far.

Right now there's no way we beat them but ask again in about 4 weeks.

Face the facts: Ron Prince has built one heckuv-an explosive, exciting, fast, furious, bold, daring, play wild and fight like cats, pickers pick/players play, Blackhawk Down, Power Toweling, Lynch Mobbing football team.

UT is very beatable.

i like our chances very much even after a tough tcu team.

they still look  normally overrated.

I think you left out highly intelligent, football IQ'in' bunch of Mofo's.  Now that I know you a little better I now realize that you come off as Mr. Optimist to fulfill your commitment to fats.  Its all good, I won't tell anybody.   :-X

The game is in Austin, so I give Texas the advantage there. But, the Cats have a bye week to prepare, and if nothing else, Prince seems to do his best work when he has more than a week to game plan.

If the Cats defense can get healthy, it should keep the game close, at least for a half. If it's still banged up, things could get ugly.
The K-State offense isn't consistent enough, or fluid enough to win a shootout, yet (last year was the end of the season, and at home).

Results with more than a week to game plan

Illinois State W 24 -23
Rutger L 10 - 37
Auburn L 13 - 23

Yeah...the result really support that Prince in a f'ning genius with more than a week to prepare.

Add some more adjectives...between those and your two-star recruits, maybe you can convince yourself your program's headed in the right direction.

We won 7 games and beat Texas(a top 5 team) last year, in Prince's first year.

Callahan won 5 games in his first year.  Now, in year 4, he has yet to beat a top 5 team, or a top 10 team, or a top 15 team, or even a top 20 team.

He has yet to even reach the AVERAGE winning percentage that his predecessor had per season, and that's counting the addition of a cupcake into the noncon schedule for Callahan.

Thanks, come again.  Maybe you can come back during basketball season, when your loyalty to Nebraska completely disappears.

Allow me to answer the question with some expert analysis.

Texas blew up in the second half and annihilated a very good defense.  tcu hadn't given up  a 100 yards to a rusher in 20 games.  JC ended that streak.  UT was dead in the first half mostly because the QB wasn't on track.  He's on track now.  The question was, can KSU beat them and right now the answer is no.  KSU gets UT before OU which will be interesting.
If UT has woken up then they'll win the rest of their games and play for the nc.

Did you catch NU barely win against a bad WF team missing their starting qb?

Ark State is another big hitter that the T-Sip had a hard time with.. The Big 12 admitted that the ref's gave the game to UT. UT will lose 3-4 games this year...
