those freaking penalties are nuts. Extending drives that are basically stalled.
I noticed that San Jose had 213 yards of offense vs. the 1's...that was w/ 7 minutes to play when we put in the scrubs on D for their last TD drive. I'll take 213 yards and 7 points w/ a few minutes to play. Aside from the penalties the defense played well.
The offense needs more consistency. Thank god for Deon and a healthy Jordy.
Nice hands Lamark.
-
explain lamark, did he drop more than 1 or are you not being sarcastic. I agree though, bland outing.
-
average is a nice way of putting it. Defense was okay, except for Justin "Drive Extender" McKinney. Offense was fairly terrible. We tried a trick play (which didn't work) in the first quarter against San Jose State at home.
Also, our f'ing QB was on the hands team. Brilliant.
-
400 yds isn't terrible.
-
the offense was decent...just inconsistent. Josh was 25 of 36, gave up no sacks, and ran for nearly 6 yards per carry. We just have a way of F-ing things up too often to stall drives whether it's a false start, holding, whatever. It is unreal how many times we kill our own drives or extend our opponents drives.
About Lamark...Freeman put it right in his hands from pt. blank range and I think it may have bounced off his facemask. I don't know if he took his eyes off it to turn and evade the defender he knew was in the area but it was poor.
Lamark and Pierce look like they don't have a clue out there.
I wish Prince would run the ball more...we're capable and run it well when we do.
-
LOL @ catzacker hating Freeman.
-
We do kill a lot of drives, I can't count the times when we're moving the ball well and then all of a sudden the punt team is out. hopefully Pierce figures things out. Lamark as a freshman can't be expected to do a whole lot at WR.

fixed it.

QFT. QFT. QFT. QFT.

Freeman is ridiculous
God some of those throws were horrible. Not just the ints either.
-
Lamark looked like he was trying to catch flies blindfolded. It was ugly, put that kid in the backfield because right now he's not much of a receiver.
-
he's a sophomore. He completed like 70% of passes so it couldn't have been that terrible.

F*cking stat whores are ridiculous. His completion percentages are high because he's throw dump downs, not vertically. Freeman looked bad, just accept it.

I didnt' see or hear the game so I have to go off of stats, and because of this i will continue not to believe you.

Fair enough.

Were you one of those people that pimped Marc Dunn?
Carson is not a viable alternative, please tell me you understand this.

My war cry isn't, "Coffman should play right now." My war cry is, "Prince, tell your Golden Boy to pull his head out of his ass and stop coddling him." A buddy of mine (who grew up with Ronny) thinks that Freeman may very well be his love child...
Why do you hate Carson Coffman so much, did he bump you off the sidewalk?
-
The back-up QB love fest phenomenon is stupid. I have nothing against Carson as long as Freeman has all four appendages and Carson is relaying in the signals, clipboard in hand, helmet safely tucked under the bench, on the sideline.

Weren't you one of the yahoo's that were chanting for Freeman last year? If that's your motto shouldn't we have just left the beautiful Meier in there?
-
Freeman was 6-for-6 for 88 yards on Kansas States first touchdown drive, part of a longer stretch in which he completed eight straight passes for 106 yards. He was perfect on the Wildcats' other TD drives, too. Freeman was 6-for-6 for 66 yards to set up his own 1-yard run for a 17-7 lead with just under 1 1/2 minutes left in the first half. And he was 5-for-5 for 34 yards before Johnson's 4-yard run made it 24-7 early in the fourth quarter.
But Coffman would be more perfect!
kono

5 for 5 for 34 yards?
wooooooow. im in awe.

I was against using Freeman last year. I thought he was going to get murdered. I also overestimated Meier and underestimated Freeman.
-
is over estimating meier possible?

2004 OU game kept replaying in my mind over and over and over and over.
Dylan Meier 20/38 242 1TD/0INT

ahhhhh

JF didn't complete any bombs but he completed several 10-15 yard passes. Although not outstanding, better than the just "dump offs".
-
Lamark as a freshman can't be expected to do a whole lot at WR.
Why? We've had plenty of other true freshman that have played and been big contributers.
If he's good enough to burn a redshirt and good enough to be on the field, then he needs to be expected to make an impact.
All in all, his dropped passes are far less frustrating than watching the mindless idiocy of Justin McKinney game after game. I'm starting to think getting Joshua Moore back just may be the key to our season.
-
It hit Lamark squarely in the hands than bounced off his facemask. I may need to eat crow. :curse: :crybaby:

What game were you watching? This is a pro style offense to a T. They pass to set up the run, use short passes as another form of running game. He made 2 terrible throws that were picked. One of those was a terrible decision, the other was underthrown.
He had probably a dozen or so 10-15 yard throws to the TE and hit DM and JN in stride on the signature RP play (drag play).
By no means was he outstanding, but a solid outing IMO.

Also, our f'ing QB was on the hands team.
Bold and Daring to the extreme.
Stan and Wyatt ducked the issue on the post game show - "we discussed it during the game."
