I thought Auburn was about to put the hurt on, instead, int.
USF maintains its lead and has the ball.

Auburn finally finds its offense. A little rushing, some passing. Touchdown. 17-14 and Auburn shouldn't have to look back...

Actually, USF might be the second best team in Florida.  Fourth if you count NFL.

The way Louisville and WVU's defenses have looked so far, they do have a good chance to make some serious noise in the Big East.  They even get both of those teams at home.

Fifth Auburn turnover.

The Auburn D is nasty indeed.

USF kicker blows.

Auburn should have started punting on 1st down once they got the lead.

I don't think we needed an Auburn loss to give us an indication of how bad/good our team was.  We could have watched OUR game last night and figured it out.

I haven't seen anyone on our schedule that looks unbeatable yet (unless we make it to the Big XII championship game  :ohno: ), so I don't think there is any reason for concern at this point.

I didn't get to see the game but was listening to updates on the drive home from Manhattan.  SFU is a solid team.

We still should have beaten Auburn, we definitely outplayed them.  Doesn't change much from last week.

Still, losing @ Auburn isn't something to be ashamed of.  But we should have won.

Auburn is terrible...and South Florida had the cajones you pretenders lacked, and were able to seal the deal against Auburn. Your team built on the best two-star recruits that Prince could convince to come and spend four years in a homosexual purple themed trailer park couldn't.

If you could spell "candidate" I would pay more attention to your opinion. Maybe if you guys had ever had a legitimate Heisman candidate, you'd be more familiar with the spelling.

Keller is 2-0, with both wins against teams that played in bowls last year....and off to a good start. Thanks for asking.  :D

This says nothing about K-State's team this year.  Jim Leavitt is a superstar.  We knew this.  He will be in an MNC game in the next 5 years.  I wish he would be wearing purple when he does it, but I will salute him anyway.

What he has done at S. Florida is beginning to make Bill Snyder's accomplishments look ordinary.

I will say this:

He has done this in Florida when Miami and Florida St. were on a slight down swing.  Florida has more than enough talent to service his needs.  Bill Snyder had to do it in Kansas.  What Leavitt has done is without question unbelievable, but he had certain structural advantages and also he was able to create an identity from scratch as opposed to reversing an identity inextricably linked with losing.

Easy there, tiger.  USF is the ninth largest university in the nation, and has a ton of money floating around.  And it's always going to be easier to recruit to Tampa than Manhattan.  While you might find the results reminiscent, don't diminish the mountains Snyder had to climb.

The fact is that Bill Snyder started with a program that was a member of a major football conference.  Leavitt started with nothing.  Absolutetly nothing.  The only thing close around here would be if Wichita State decided to play football again or maybe if Leavitt took over at Missouri State or Creighton.  Let that sink in a little.  He didn't just have to win, he had to fight just to get into the game.

Yeah, not exactly.  Cross out your random dinky MVC schools and replace them with a major metropolitan university in the middle of a recruiting hotbed.  With beaches.  And it's arguable that starting from scratch was preferable to inheriting the most burdensome tradition in Division I-A.

USF is way beyond that point.  You haven't paid enough attention.  I don't blame you, it happened pretty fast.

Hi, I live out here.  There's no way to not pay attention to USF.  Anyway, the relative merits of Culpepper's Knights and these Bulls are immaterial.  I was drawing similarities between the two programs as out-of-nowhere up-and-comers who enjoy monstrous enrollments and favorable geography.  When these teams decided to venture into 1-A football, it wasn't exactly considered the impossible dream that existed in the Little Apple.  There was talent, there was optimism, there was a plan.  Even if Leavitt does wind up winning the Big East in the next few years, Snyder's feats will remain unique because of the economic, historic, and geographic factors.

I would have to guess there is more football talent in the metro Tampa area than in all of KS, NE, MO, CO, and OK combined. Leavitt has done an incredible job, but he has a lot to work with including a pro stadium, a large school, and a big city. Hard to compare what Snyder did to what Leavitt has done.

lol at you thinking he was even listed as a choice, seeing as how he was employed for the first few weeks of our coaching search.

At least you admit he wasn't the first, second, third, or fourth choice.

There is hope for you.
