Title: iPhone part deux
Post by: Dan Rydell on September 05, 2007, 10:51:18 PM
Hey, all you suckers who bought an iPhone two months ago for $600 when they first came out...was it worth $200 to have it two months before anyone else?

LOL @ Apple's price drops today.  But if they'd start selling them at Circuit City, I'd think about using my gift certificates on one.  With all the new iPods they announced, though, I'm kinda torn about what to get.

The iPod touch looks cool, but it's basically an iPhone without a phone, and I've already got AT&T, so if I'm going to get one of those, I might as well get the phone while I'm at it.

The new iPod Nanos are a possible option, but Creative announced a new Zen mp3/video player last week that's the size of a credit card, plays more video formats, and also accepts SD cards, which would be nice.  I just don't know if/when those Zens are going to be available in the US, and I'd kinda like to get a new mp3 player sometime in the next month, if possible.  My little 512 mb Samsung, while it's served me faithfully, just doesn't really have the capacity I'd like anymore...and I'd like video capability as well.

I just wish Apple would put a radio on their iPods. I know you can buy an attachment for it but f*ck that.

Who the f*ck listens to radio anymore?  I mean, besides opcat.  I sure wouldn't want to waste space (or $) on the feature, especially in a nano.

And yeah, a lot sooner than I'd have guessed on the price drops.  Still waiting for 3G though.  My laptop was stuck on EDGE for most of my trip up to Alabama, and I felt like Mr. Slowsky.

Gyms have tv's set up to get the audio on a radio frequency.

I wish mp3 players had AM radio so I could listen to Between the Lines with Kevin Keitzman.

I'm in the market for a new one.

i read they don't because something to do with the antenae, interference, or it takes too much battery to get a good AM signal, or something...  i'd love to have one for rome at lunch and kk in the afternoon.

they used to make on with am/fm a few years back but discontinued it.  the new ipods have wifi, which should allow you to connect to 810whb.com and stream content (maybe?)

your buddy and poop colored zune has the radio built in and works just fine, still getting hours and hours of use.

apple = wanting you to spend more money on third party components.  (no surprise)

Judging by the speed of the wifi on the iPhone, you'd probably stop to buffer every 5 seconds with streaming audio.
