Have to say, this is indicative of some in-depth homework by the coaching staff. Get the 2-stars to commit before they're 4-stars! Now we'll see if they can keep them! :ohno:

Are we honestly celebrating 3 Stars. Lets face it if we want to compete with the powers (Texas and OU) in the LONG TERM we need to snag some 4s and 5s at those skill positions.

Well... your cup can be half full and half empty. I think when your player gets updgraded from when he signed, the cup should be half full. Who knows, maybe some of the current recruits will continue moving up. And btw... the class isn't done yet. Plenty of time for some 4s... and 5s. However, don't expect a Tex. or USC class.

3's actually tend to be where it's at believe it or not. They play with a chip on their shoulders, but are ready to compete. Go look at commitment lists and think about how many of our 4's work out in comparison to our 3's. Also the 3's we have now still have a year to develop into 4's with their last year of HS.

You mean like we did when Bill Snyder was the Coach? Or like last year when we beat UT's 4 and 5* kids with 2&3*'s and a couple of walk-ons?

We had no problem competing with UT last yr... yeah long term I can see it being a problem, but with some success - we should be a contender for those caliber of recruits. Also, before you stock too much faith in stars... Terrance Newman was a two star recruit - stolen by Snyder from Terry Allen

I'd love to have a roster full of nothing but 3* players. If you want to throw in some 4 and 5, that'd be gravy, but 3* only will do well.
