Cox cable sucks, so does their internet. Goes out all the time, which is why I don't have it anymore. That and the absolutely HORRIBLE customer service that I always, literally always, had when dealing with them.
-
Really? I don't have HD, but our internet from Cox is blazing fast, and always on. Our cable goes out once in awhile, but no big deal. I've been pretty happy with Cox...and NO, I don't know anybody that works there.
-
It worked for me. However, I had terrible luck and had to miss the first half of the game. I was able to get to the tv right before the TD. So, I have no clue if it would have worked for me at the begining of the game, but it did work when I started watching the game.
I do agree though, Cox does suck. My internet has been down all day until now.

My friend said it didn't work in Wichita either. Horse sh1t.

It eventually worked in time for the game, but Cox again demonstrated how out of touch with their customer base they are.
The only issue was supposd to be that the game before ours didn't have the HD licensing squared away. Thus the ESPN HD channel was to be blacked out for that game. That's fine.
When that game ended, ESPN HD didn't come back until about 5 minutes before our game started. They blacked out the whole Scoreboard show/preview of our game. When I called, the guy tried to tell me our game had licensing issues. I told him I knew better, but he blamed it all on ESPN/licensing people. Obviously, he was wrong. It was simply Cox not getting on the ball and getting their crap together with ESPN after the 2:30 game ended.
I missed the whole 1st half of the Texas Bowl too. When I called, they tried to tell me it was a Reliant Stadium issue. From reading the board and seeing all you assholes could watch the game, I knew that was a lie.
They don't seem to understand how many people have big tv's/HD service almost entirely because of sports. I don't give a damn about having 6 versions of Discovery channel in HD. Just get 12-14 of my football games to work each year. :curse:

There's a reason it's called cox.

I rewatched the first 3 quarters, and my HD recording on my DVR is great. On that note, Cox sucks. I absolutely hate them.
-
I had it the entire game. It was a little nerve racking when they were blacking out some of the games on ESPN and ESPN2 but then I realized it was because I had those games available to me on Pay-Per-View, I ordered the Gameplan for the entire season, so it was the perfect "football coma" day for me. I just wish K-State would have won and I would have liked to see the Michigan game.

I've never been more frustrated with a company than how I was with Cox while living in Manhattan.
Internet going in and out constantly. HORRIBLE customer service. Didn't have an HD set so I never really had problems with my DVR/Digital cable other than the NFL Network mysteriously going black during the Texas Bowl.
But, I soon learned after dealing with cable companies on the east coast and now in Wisconsin, all big cable companies are about the same.
-
Cox also screwed up the NU game that you had to get on pay-per-view last year. It came on eventually, but I missed about ten minutes of a game that I had paid $30 to watch.

They need an option on their automated system to press "6" or whatever if you're a dude calling about problems involving a football game. It should then get transferred to a special Cox guy who understands the importance of football, HD, recording games, having many people come over to watch games, etc. He should know all HD licensing rules, blackouts, ppv, etc. and be able to accurately explain what's happening.
He might not be able to fix anything, but at least he can be more sympathetic to people freaking out about missing the only events they give a damn about. The people they have now just seem so out of touch with reality. They're just baffled that somebody would take issue with the football game not showing up.
