Title: No matter who we play,
Post by: ksuno1stunner on September 02, 2007, 04:06:18 PM
we will likely have the fastest and most physical team on the field.  It seems like a lot of players are playing with Marcus Watts' mentality, one with no respect towards your body.  It was amazing watching our guys fly around, throwing their bodies around trying to make plays.  Garvin tearing that guy's helmet off was badass.  We've got mini-Polamalu's running around in Houlik (powertards weren't lying, he is good) and Moore.  We have no more f-ing pussies on this team.  Prince was very hard on his players all summer and it shows.  True story...during one practice, they were just about getting ready to be done, when Prince gets upset and says something like, "F- this, start everything over!", and they proceed to redo the entire 4 or so hour practice.  He's not f-ing around, and now it's not surprising to see the amount of players leave.  There is no room for pussies on this team.

Well that's my 2 cents on this subject.

My favorite play of the game was A. Moore's monster sack on Cox where he jumped to block the throw and just drilled him.

Where'd you hear your practice story? PM?

Seriously, it seems like every player is a badass.  This team has some athletes.

I def. agree, I can't believe how physical and how we flew to the ball. I also noticed it wasn't just one person getting in on the tackle, it was about 3 or more in on the tackle.

Not gonna lie. While a bit pissed about having 141 penalty yards, a hint of me was proud. We are a dirty team.

We just need to get marcus perry off the field.

It's probably because our coach is black.

From an Auburn fan (you know, one of the best defense in the country):

K-state defense - Was it just me, or were they really big and fast?...

It's been a while since we've been "big and fast"

We're not big, we are "mean and fast", which I would take over "big and fast" any day.

Penalties can and will be corrected improved as the year goes along. This was game 1, in front of 87000.

This is truly the first time in several years where this defense might just actually have the toughness and tenacity to use the term "Lynch Mob".

BRING IT BACK!!!!

Detractors want to say how bad Auburns offense was, and while I admit it nothing to right home about; you cannot deny how aggressive and fierce we looked.  The way we flew to the ball.

We're still just getting our game legs underneath us, this should be a good sign of things to come.

Marcus Perry, I can only hope we don't see alot more of him.

Auburn has had a top 30 rushing offense for the last 5 years, they know how to pound the ball.  We stoned them.  This defense really looked alot like the 03 D.

Their lead rusher was suspended.

Erker, too.  His feel good story of cracking the line-up last year doesn't fit this year's D.  He was looking at the back of too many navy blue jerseys Saturday night.

QFT.  He got beat on a long pass play and got a 15 yard penalty. He and McKinney need to just play on special teams.

I still don't understand the McKinney hate. He had nine tackles and a forced fumble. He had only one legitimate personal foul called on him and I don't think it was that costly (correct me if I'm wrong). I think he played pretty well last night. Obviously, you do have a case for past games but he played exceptionally well on Saturday.

I'd rather see Josh Moore than McKinney, but since Moore is an f'ing moron, we'll get to see McKinney.

Well no sh*t. Of course I'd rather see Moore than McKinney. But I don't think McKinney played so bad last night. Definitely not enough to get railed on over and over again.

Don't listen to the NUBB and ku fans about Auburn's offense.  They are not great but they have a 5th year senior QB who is a 3 year starter and they have a big strong o-line and a stable of talented backs.  Also like most every SEC team they have some good athletes at the WR position.  They are not that bad on offense and they are used to facing fast physical defenses week in and week out in the SEC and they were still surprised by our speed and physicality.  I'll be interested to see how they do against South Florida next week.  My guess is they don't have as much trouble with them as they had with us.

On Mckinney, the hate towards him is misguided he played very well on Saturday.  We picked the ball off the very next play after his one legit face mask so it didn't end up hurting us.  He saved a TD with his tackle on a screen play in the first half.  The one thing he does need to do is not tackle around the head so much he's asking for penalties when he does that.
