Title: Auburn experience rewind...
Post by: fb on September 02, 2007, 11:52:19 AM
I enjoyed some beautiful golf courses.  I almost slam dunked one from about 100 yards.  The hole was destroyed.  Unfortunately, the course destroyed me.:)

The Auburn game experience didn't live up to my expectations.  I have heard how great the SEC is.  Maybe everyone was sleepwalking since they expected us to lose by 50 but it was not that great.  I can promise you our stadium gets far more rowdy.  Hell even the beaks probably made more noise than Auburn did last night.

I have no idea what to think about our team.  We have a bunch of speed...BUNCH OF SPEED.  Right now I don't know how many football players we have though.  Our offense seems to put so much on Josh's shoulders and he isn't ready for that yet.  We are so lucky that Josh's health isn't much worse.  We became so dependent on throwing the ball that they were able to just pin their ears back and ignore defending the run.  Our WRs outside of Jordy need to make a large leap forward.  Johnson and Patton are so elusive but running the ball between the tackles really seems like a far fetched idea right now.  Everyone we play should be able to watch the Auburn film and know just about everything we will do from a scheme perspective.  We opened it up on both sides.  Just like we couldn't make too much from the Illinois St game, we can't take too much from the Auburn game.  Lots of reassuring stuff but it is a new week and injuries, players stepping up, players stepping down, and other stuff happens over a season.  We have got to move on.

Montgomery has a nice little airport.  I flew out of their this morning on a friend's plane back to KC.  There wasn't any room for my son and he is waiting for his plane in Atlanta...hahaha.  The KC downtown airport is such a dump.

I know morale victories are frowned on sometimes but Prince has basically talked about a morale victory from the UofL game last year preparing us for Texas.  I am sure the players are mad they didn't win but they left knowing they played poorly in some areas and still almost stole one from a top 20 SEC team.  Prince is a positive guy and I am sure he'll have the guys' focused and learning from the mistakes.  I said last week that SJSU is not that good.  We will prove that with a 40+ point at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
