Title: Auburn player updates.
Post by: Pett on August 29, 2007, 09:33:30 PM
From about an hour ago: http://auburn.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=707773

Sounds like injured guard Leon Hart, Lester, & tackle Dunlap will all start.

Good job teaching your kids a life lesson, Tubberville.  Taking a page out of slashahan's book I see.

Doesn't matter. Rob is still  :lick: for Ziemba.

In other news, one of Auburn's top three WR's, Montez Billings is out for the game.

Leon Hart sucks and hopefully he wont play for us.  He has been a disappointment his entire career. Ziemba has been practicing against Groves for weeks so I am sure he can handle what KSU has to offer plus he will most likely have TE help.  Billings is not a big loss because recievers 3-6 were all about equal going into practice and his lack of participation cost him a chance to play.  As far as Dunlap there is no resaon for him not to play, a traffic citation is hardly cause for a game suspension.  Tubberville runs a tight ship whether you want to believe it or not.

War Eagle is quite adamant that Tubberville has a zero tolerance policy.

But he does make exceptions for things like academic issues and arrests.

Other than that....ZERO tolerance.

Will he or won’t he play Saturday against Kansas State? That is the big mystery surrounding Auburn starting tailback Brad Lester. Asked whether his academic status, which prevented Lester from playing against Nebraska in the Cotton Bowl, remains an issue, Tigers coach Tommy Tuberville said after practice Wednesday that he still expects Lester to play. But he wasn’t totally convincing.

“He’s our starter. If anything else happens, I’ll let you know,” Tuberville told the Columbus, Ga., Ledger-Enquirer. “We’ll just have to wait and see how things work out.”

Lester led Auburn with nine rushing TDs in 2006 and was second in rushing yards with 510 (4.9 average).

if he is eligible he will play, if he is not he won't, very simple.  Has nothing to do with Tubberville and team discipline or academic issues.  That is why the NCAA has concrete guidelines when it comes to academics to take it out of the coaches hands.  The people on this board are really a bunch of morons.
