Mangino: 8-12.

Wow, after hearing the beaks talk about how close they are to being 9-3, 8-4, 10-2 the past 3 years...that was surprising.

Ummm... what's so surprising?

ku had 2 OT losses last season, a 3-point loss to A&M in the last minute of the game, and a 1 point loss on the road at Baylor.  ku lost pretty much all of its close conference games besides Colorado.

8-12. That's actually not that bad of a record in close games. Seriously, I remember when KSU fans were always sympathetic towards wooldridge for the exact same reasons ku fans are to Mangino (close losses). Then I did an analysis that showed he was around .500 in close games.

I was expecting mango to be something like 3-12 8-12 really isn't that bad.

Prince needs to get better at the non-close games.  Like the ones where we lose by double digits.

True, but we didn't give Wooly a raise for staying that way.

He's coaching somewhere else.

ku still has Mangino for five more years.

Mangino is a very smart man for convincing ku fans that mediocrity in football is much better at a basketball school and everyone is happy.   That merited a raise.

And a big Mangino sized LOL.

I too would put Prince at the same level as Stoops and Brown.

Alternating close wins with losses by 4+ TDs isn't exactly a recipe for genius.

are there stats for blowout losses like there are for close games?

If I did my math correctly, Bill was 26-26 in games decided by 7 points or less.  That statistic is great, but I'd give anything for Ronald to be 0-4 in games decided by 7 points or less and still win the Big 12 title (like KSU did in 03).

the only reason he is 8-12 is because ku sucks to bad to beat anyone by more than 7 points

Agreed.  Win the North and beat ku....those should be the two priorities every year...in that order.

Seriously. Replace it with a real rival like UT or even Nebraska.

Well, at the very least ours is a really good "talker."  You know those management audio books with the executive summary...he loves those.

I don't like Ron Prince.
Neither do I.

Mangina's record is GREAT! Oh... he "coaches" football? Sorry I thought he batted 3rd on ku's Baseball team. My bad.
