the bose are like putting clouds on your ears. i had those sony's too, and they are designed poorly. the little hockey puck ear pads hurt like hell. the bose fit snugly over your ears, and create a sound proof room inside your head. its almost air tight. they are ultra light, and i forget they are there.

Ear buds are fine ... so long as you never turn your head or move any part of your body that's in contact with the cord.

I should add that these treads are really annoying when people only post pictures of the headphones they're interested in.

It's usually a pain in the ass to find what you're showing.

Yes, relative to what you are looking for it is.  It is probably the very least you can pay for a "quality" headphone.  I also have the jvc marshmellows and they are good for what you are looking for.  I have never heard of the ones you linked so I can't comment on them.  You family is loaded right?  Have them get you some good ones to go along with your new TV.

Yes, that is a rediculous deal.  Old tech can be had for nothing.  Pretty awesome.

I don't think I'll ever buy another mp3 player unless it's compatible w/ rockbox.

Dead serious.

Does rockbox support divx/xvid?

Just mpegs.  but there's a program out there that makes it real easy to convert/fit your screen.  I have it at home and don't feel like looking for it now.

That's fine.  I just want something to make my 80gb Zune play divx/xvid without having to convert to mp4.  Would make my pirating life a lot easier.

I got these (http://"http://www.amazon.com/Denon-AHC551K-AH-C551K-In-Ear-Headphone/dp/B000WVCO7Y/ref=pd_ybh_rec_home_3?pf_rd_p=279612301&pf_rd_s=right-1&pf_rd_t=1501&pf_rd_i=ybh&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=11CZ5VH5NP1PE1SY53D3") a couple of months back, and they're very good for a mid-priced set of in ear phones.
