Title: Seniors
Post by: kstatefan11 on August 17, 2007, 02:24:46 PM

I would say Jordy Nelson, Rob Jackson, and James Johnson have the best shot.

I don't see any obvious first day picks, and would be shocked at more than 3-4 total picks.

2 wouldn't surprise me.

Rob's probably the closest to a lock
I think Norwood & Manu might off their measurables;
Johnson could be a late rounder if he has a good year;
Jordy; I don't know...   He would need one hell of a year and he could squeek in there.
As badass as Watts is though, I don't know, Maybe someone would want him as a special teamer or something.   I can see him being on a roster somewhere, but I don't know if he'll get drafted.

Why not Justin McKinney??

because he sucks.  Every good play he's ever had was because he was in the process of getting burned and the QB underthrew his reciever.

The first two numbers will shrink and the last number will grow after the NFL combine.

Jordy is a legit 6'2" to 6"3" probably closer to 6'3" and he is in the 215 to 220 range.  Those numbers won't shrink at the combine.  Doubt he runs a 4.4 though probably something in the 4.5's which is good for a guy his size.

Rob Jackson and Jordy both should get drafed for sure barring injuries or terrible seasons.  Neither is a sure fire first day pick but I wouldn't be surprised at all to see either of them go first day with a good season.  I also think Watts probably gets drafted.  Kids a player and he can run, is a little smaller then what you want for an NFL safety but my guess is someone takes him second day based on his film and his special teams ability.

God. I sat by this woman and she was estatic when Petrie came into the game. And everytime he touched the ball she was like, "Oh my God, Go Terry!!!"  Result of the play 1 yard gain. "Good job Terry way to show them what you got"

Very bizarre.

I think that barring an injury, Jackson is on pace to be a 3rd-6th round pick.  Jordy won't get drafted unless he has 50 catches and blows up the combine.

Here is the thing about juco transfers from the Jayhawk conference.  The jucos are made up of about 50% middle age female yocals who want to get their "teaching certificate" or some other education because most never went to college.  These women get their "colege experience" at the age of 42 and grab on to the heros they have access to.  They thus become HUGE Kansas State, or whoever, fans once "their best friend from math class", goes there and this is the way they become world traveled and not local yocals.  The sad thing is other old ladys from their town actually buy this crap and think their friend is living the cosmopolitan dream.  They then divorce their hay baling husband to go be city women and move to Dodge City and attend DCCC to become "sophisticated."  I have, unfortunately, witnessed this exact scenario multiple times.

Jordy ran a 10.63 100 in high school i bet he runs in the 4.4's

quotes on jordy

"There's been speculation that if the 6-foot-2, 217-pound Nelson, who has been timed at 4.46 seconds in the 40-yard dash, improves on his receiving numbers, he could leave for the NFL." befor last year

"Add to the mix sophomore Jordy Nelson, a Riley County product who has turned heads with his 6-foot-3 frame and speed that ranks second only to Figurs"

I'm pretty sure he will test well and get drafted.

Someone said there was an NFL scout at the Olathe practice who said he was there to see 4 players, but I remember only that it included Logan Robinson and Justin McKinney and did not include Jordy Nelson.

McKinney sucks, he gets burnt atleast once a game.

On McKinney -- I guess the NFL likes his speed. People don't remember this, but before Third-and-Tetuan there was Third-and-Faggins. Petey Faggins was absolutely horrible at times, but the NFL loved his speed and agility, and he is doing just fine (sucks) in the NFL after getting drafted in round 6. He still holds a record at KSU that involves standing flat on the floor and then jumping on to a stack of mats. I wouldn't be surprised to see McKinney get drafted late like that and stick with the right team for a few.

On Logan Robinson -- the scout said Robinson was going to have to show a lot more nasty and aggressiveness. I remember Rod Cole telling a group of us on a tour that Clary and Robinson would both make NFL squads just based on their measure-ables and their work ethic. Seems like a stretch to me, but the scout supposedly said Robinson was 1 of the 4.

Jordy has to be a big wait-and-see since he is a) white and b) recovering from unknown injury. If he has the year we're all hoping for, he will either get drafted on the second day or sign as a free agent.

Jordy's injury was to his knee but it didn't even require surgery it's not even an issue.  He was full speed by the bowl game last year and showed his speed in that game but unfortanatley had trouble holding onto the ball or he would have had a 100 plus yard day.

I don't think being white at WR is really that big of deal.  White wide outs get drafted all the time especially bigger guys like Jordy.  Someone asked when the last time a white WR went first day the Colts took the white kid from Ohio State at the end of the first round last year.

Legore, good points. Of course, not everything everyone says on this board is entirely serious  :blush:, but if we were to pretend that is so, your points would be even better.

Fatty, if the rumors about you are true, your hole is a little too loose for my wee peg, but thank you kindly for the invitaiton.  :love: :fatty:  :dancin::-X :beerchug:
