in that you did even not have internet/sports ticket updates?
For me it was the 2000 Mizzou game. I couldn't watch the first quarter and the half because I was playing a 3-set tennis match.
I lost, but was even more important we were losing 14-0.

KSU vs. Mizzou -- 2005
I was stuck in Alabama on a work trip....had no access to internet or television...
Miserable.

2003 UMASS game. The rest of my family went to the game, but I had a conflict with a practice. When I was getting a water break, ABC broke into the game to show a highlight of our game where umass scored their only TD of the game where they had a 70 yard TD reception going up 7-0 in the first quarter.
Missing a KSU game really gets to me. It sucked, I just felt out of the loop that day.
Great ett.

Tennis practice? Were you :ohno: after that update?
I missed the 2000 Nebraska game because of a Winter USTA tennis event in St. Louis. Seriously. :curse: That's the last KSU football home game I've missed. :ksu:

Yep, I was playing a match my coach set up for me on a CFB saturday. :curse:
That umass game was the first game that Schwinn started, so I was definately :ohno:.
And how could you miss the NU game?? Did you think about cancelling?
-
All of the 2005 season except CU and MU. Damn Army!!

My parents pretty much forced me. Nothing I could do. :'(
I went 2 and out in the tourny, but I have good memories of watching that game in a St. Louis hotel screaming my ass off, and crying when Dyshod broke up that pass. (serious)

"Dyshod Carter may have sent Kansas State to the Big XII championship game."
-FSN guy. (Ron Thulin?) :notworthy: :crybaby:

Wow, now that I think about it, I don't think I've missed a game (either via radio or TV) since 1995. I've had numerous weddings around/during games, but always managed to get wired up to listen to the game or find a TV at the reception.

Good season to miss.

It seems forever since I have missed a game. But if I was going to say the closest I was to missing a game it was UMASS, I was in the hospital then and since it wasn't on TV I couldn't watch it.

FWIW: Army Reserve, I'm no Riley Rat!

Baylor game last season. I had homecoming that night and i didn't check the score on my phone until late fourth quarter, i guess that counts. I have bad memories with kstate games on my homecoming. 2004- the infamous ku game. 2005- Oklahoma beating. 2006- Baylor embarassment. All of those made my homecoming night bad. the ku game one ruined everything, that and my date was being a cvnt.

I still remember that picture in the snow with the disappointed NU player in the background. Classic

I think it was the year they beat Ohio U (I think, maybe that wasn't it) 23-20 or something like that. It's been a while.

'97. Many people forget how close we were to losing that game.
-
I had a game that day and remember not being overly concerned about it...got home and asked my roommate what the score was and about shat myself when he told me.
There were several that season that I missed most or a lot of, but I think that was the only one I had no contact with at all until it was over.
-
I missed the entire 97 ku game, but that doesn't really count because I wasn't fanatical back then.
-
There's a theory that me going to K-state has caused our team to start sucking.
KSU games I've attended over the last 5 years
2003 - Marshall - LOSS
2004 - Western Kentucky - win
2004 - Fresno State - LOSS (We were ranked pretty high before collapsing)
2004 - LaLa - win
2004 - ku - LOSS
2004 - Nebraska - win
2004 - Tech - LOSS
2004 - Iowa State - LOSS
2005 - Fla Int - Win (But way closer than it shoulda been)
2005 - North Texas - Win
2005 - Oklahoma - LOSS (Drove down there for this, was talking a LOT of trash to all sooner fans around me, then we hike it through our own endzone and I pretty much sat down and shut up for the rest of the game)
2005 - ku - Win
2005 - TAMU - LOSS
2005 - Colorado - LOSS (Jermaine drops the kickoff and then plays dead afterwards)
2006 - Missouri - Win
2007 - Illinois State - Win (But we should have lost, Illinois State HC was retarded)
2007 - Marshall - Win
2007 - Louisville - LOSS
2007 - Kansas - LOSS
That's a pretty ugly win-loss ratio for a team that was otherwise badass for the last 10 years.

The last game I was out of the loop was CU in '03 which was the last game I missed in person. I had to go to Sarasota, FL for work and had to travel there while the game was being played. My co-workers thought going to Sarasota and staying at a Ritz-Carlton vs. missing a K-State was well worth it. It was freaking miserable not knowing what was happening not only with K-State, but college football as a whole.
When I got to my room, the only game that was on was an Iowa / tOSU, 12-10 like, big televen slugfest...  :banghead:
-
I've only seen KSU win in person once on the road in conference play - these are the road games I've gone to:
'98 - MU (W)
'01 - OU
'03 - UT
'03 - OSU
'04 - ku
'05 - OU
My bowl record is impeccable though:
'97 Fiesta
'01 Cotton
-
I missed the second half of FAU last year.

Did you go home early because of the weather, rusty?? :curse: :shy:

This board is so mean.

Mizzou last year. My wonderful sister (Motivational Tool) went and got married. During the game.
-
1999 vs CU at home.
I actually got to listen to about half of the first quarter, but then i had to take my certification test to become a personal trainer.
We were unbeaten at the time and when i heard we only won 20-14, i was glad but kinda bummed we only beat da Buffs by 6.
-
KSU vs. A&M '05. Damn wedding. I was in it.
I was told our WR's had the dropsies in that one and the D couldn't stop McNeal. Oh wellz.
-
Fl int? or FAU in 05.
-
A game in 92.
-
1995 November 11 at Iowa State.
I went down to visit a friend in Austin and we road tripped to New Orleans. There just isn't much Wildcat coverage between Austin and New Orleans. We had to hunt for the ticker once we got to the motel to see what the score was.
-
If checking scores through my phone counts as contact, I can go back at least to the '93 CU game in Manhattan.
Never, and I mean never, let a woman talk you into missing a game.
-
I was going to say that the one game I've missed since like 1991 was the Marshall game in Manhattan but I did watch it on TV. I think I may have missed a non conference home game once but kept track of it over the internet. We were up like 35-0 after one quarter but I don't really remember any other details. Can't even remember why I missed it. So I'm sticking with the Marshall game being the only one I've missed.
-
i haven't missed a game since 04, but.....
when i was listening to the marshall game last year at winfield, the opening kickoff got onsided and i spent the next 20 mins looking for a 'live feed' instead of re-runs.
:banghead:
