Not a very nice move by MLB, considering the guy doesn't have much longer to live.
Seriously, has a 40+ man ever been suspended & fined by somebody other than their wives? Honest question.

what'd he do?
besides...5 games for a pitcher? pointless. he'll be back in rotation by the time its ended. they should do 5 starts.
-
Agreed. But I'd make it a suspension for just a couple starts. It wasn't that bad...
During a testy three-game series, the Blue Jays' Jesse Litsch threw behind Alex Rodriguez's legs in Monday's opener and Josh Towers hit A-Rod on his calf with a pitch in the third inning Tuesday.
The benches and bullpens emptied twice, but no punches were thrown. Clemens then hit Rios in the middle of his back in the seventh inning. Clemens and Torre immediately were ejected.

good lord. that was weak.
IMHO, that was not as worse as throwing the bat at piazza.

It should be 25 games. MLB doesn't get a whole lot right but they've been cracking down on this kind of stuff lately and I, for one, am glad that it's happening.

Bullsh*t, its part of the game. I'm sick of the pussification of Major League Baseball.

Not that the money matters much to Clemens at this point, but his pay is also suspended 5 games. Now if they would suspend a player 5 games of pay and 15 games of playing time, then it would be better, but the union would be all over that.

Five games for throwing at a guy?
:jerkoff:
The appropriate response is for the Blue Jays to send a guy out to head hunt Jeter.
How is this so hard? It worked well for a century or so.
