I'd say a full 10 on my love for him.
I'm completely sold on his ideas and everything, including his recruiting. The more important thing is, that the players seem to be sold on his ideas too. I really like how he is demanding on his assistants, and isn't afraid to let them go. Despite my whole "2 star" episode, our 08 guys seem pretty decent. I love his wackiness, and his big words. He's a genius. He has like every aspect of the game covered. I really do think he will lead us back to the level we were at.
No kool-aid, just 100% EMAW

As soon as my post goes up, the average "love for RP" will equal... 6.
You do the math.
:yuck:
-
For entertainment value, he's at least a solid 7. I could even go 8. Huggins was a 9 or 10.
-
5, I'm still willing to give him 4 years or until Freeman leaves.

Based on results last year I give it about a 7. However, my coaching results leading indicator metric is trending towards a 2. This metric correctly predicted that Wooly was a bad choice in year 2 of his "Reign of Mediocrity". We will see how well it is calibrated for football.
-
7 . . . based on last season. I like what I am hearing about the overall team speed, I don't have any real problem with the recruiting, he's like a breath of fresh air markting wise, he understands the role of good facilities (that's why the Vanier renovation cost several more million dollars than it would have under Snyder) and I believe the guy understands what D1 football is ablut.. I just don't know if the guy has the ability to have the team prepared to play week end and week out.

My love for him will equal the number of wins the team gets. :-* :ohno:

7.5

7.33...uh...repeating of course.

Ron Prince....6
Ron Prince's results last season....8
Ron's not really entertaining to me. He was at first, but now he's boring.
-
Compared with other first year coaches, Ron got an "A" last year.

DAMNIT LEEROY!
He gets a 6 good job last year, but a 10 coach could have done somthing about that ku game, maybe not win big, but not look as bad.
-
I'm with you Stunner. I keep thinking whether or not i can trust what he's doing, and the more i think the more i realize he's doing a pretty damn good job. But, again, he still has to prove that he can get a team ready every week (see ku game :yuck:). So i give him a 7.
-
i give him a 4.
hasnt really done much for me.
and dont give me the he took us to a bowl game crap.
dont give me the we beat texas crap.
-we got beat by ku
getting beat by ku for me, almost...cancels out the UT win.
-
I'll go with 9 to match my win projection for this season!

The texas win bought him a lot of time for most people including myself to an extent. I shudder at the thought of losing to texas and then ku, and missing a bowl.

ku was unexcuseable.

You are a sad human being.
A trip to Olathe with piss and me would cheer you up.
-
im not sad. its my opinion.
last i checked, you have no say.
he didnt do anything for me last year.
perhaps this year will be different.
olathe? only if i want to go to lids in the 'great mall of the crap plains.'

What about to see an open practice?
I actually went to the great mall a week ago (first time). It wasn't nearly as crapty as I was expecting.
BTW, the fact that you are a sad individual is my opinion. You have no say.

my brother, after announcing he was getting married at the dinner table, got married at the court house on santa fe days later.
much to the sha-grin of mi madre, he did it anyways. i was a witness. i signed it: Charles Bourgeois
last time i was in olathe. that was 1994.
years later i drove past olathe on the way to gardner, to a kick ass house warming party.
years later ended up being 3 months ago.
hap hazard is a nat'l treasure.
open practice is an open option as of now.

You guys should eat at the Mustache kup a couple blocks south of Sante Fe on the West side of K-7 afterwards, like the Kreem kup only bigger greasier and better.
-
the mustache cup?
isnt that a sting for 'to catch a predator?'
-
The Baylor game was more inexcusable than the ku game. Although both were crappy teams to lose to.
-
I was in Gardner a couple weeks ago (same trip)...the Taco Bell played Christian Rock.
???

Has anyone in the history of the Big 12 every lost to ku and Baylor in the same year? :crybaby:

Loosing to ku and Baylor was pathetic. But I'll give Ron a 6.5, hoping for more this season.

Yeah, I don't know what's with the name but it's great, greasy spoon food been around Olathe forever. They have buffalo burgers if you like that stuff.

Gardner is very, very depressing.

especially with the train depot coming in town.
It does have an Austin's now.

Try getting stuck there for 4 hours with nothing to do. It's amazing how attractive a Bass Pro Shops will look at a time like that.

4 hours is rough out there. Was that enough time to develop a skoal habit?

I have to agree with most of that. I personally believe that Matt Miller could have coached last year's team to 6 wins. Ron getting the 7th win doesn't fully legitimize him in my eyes....although I'll wait to fully condemn him.

I guess everything looks the same from the top of Mt. Zion.

You guys are impossible to please. We were picked dead last in the big twelve, we should not have beaten OSU or UT, and we did, qualified for a bowl, and in his first season (with a team Snyder couldn't get to a bowl in 2 years and some guy he recruited named Freeman.) The man gets a 10, and it doesn't go below 7, until he has a losing season.

Right now about a 9.

To go into ku and Rutgers looking completely unprepared is unexcusable I can handle losing those games just not in the fashion in which we crap our pants in doing so.

Olathe is better in spots. For the most part Rusty is correct though.

When we lose, we really lose, that's the frustrating/disheartening/scary part. I can excuse getting it handed to us by Louisville and Rutgers, maybe to a certain extent NU (but not by 18). But getting spread by Baylor by 14, ku by 19, MU by 20 was ridiculous. But maybe that's what happens with rookie head coaches and rookie DC and OC's.
-
Still an 8 from me. However, I had a dream last night that we lost to ku this season in Manhattan. If that were to actually happen my Prince likeness meter would go down. BTW, we lost 4-0 so they still didn't score a touchdown in Manhattan.
-
There was really only one game last year that afterwards Prince deserved to have my size 15 shoe planted firmly up his ass and that was the ku game. If there was ever a game that needed a Bill Snyder like hyperconservative gameplan, using field position and special teams it was that one. But Prince comes out down 2.5 receivers and tries to throw the ball.
-
We should have lost to a 1-AA team and lost to ku, like a 1-AA team, using very poor football judgement and if McCoy doesn't get hurt we probably loose the Texas game. He's as full of crap as any carnival barker I've ever been around and will run the program into the ground, and if any of you had more than about five years of real world experience you would understand the situation.
I give him a -5

I'll give him a 7. He dealt with alot of issues last year, but they appeared to me to be mostly created by the turnover and Prince discipline he wanted to instill. I thought we returned enough talent from the year before (or would have had they not left) that we should've won 7 games last year. But, the system changeover was a very complete changeover. The O-Line was pathetic and the QB was erratic. Put those two together and it was tough to show any consistency from week to week. The coaching staff couldn't count on a good running game, or on time to throw from week to week because protection was so lousy. That being said, I didn't think we did some of things we could've to counter pass rushes, etc. I think Prince wants to have a team that can run or pass, and he will game plan according to the perceived strengths and weaknesses of any particular opposition. That differs from some coaches who try to acheive a 50-50 balance (or whatever their number is) every game...regardless of what the opponent can do. I salute Prince for realizing that a balanced attack means being able to exploit whatever is available...I just hope our O-Line enables us to do that this year. Defensively, I don't like the Cover 2, so I hope we see very little of that this year. I just think it allows the opponents too many openings to get 4-6 yds. I gave Prince a 7, but I don't yet have a comfort level that he won't lead us down the tubes.
