I'll tell you right now Hatter and I'll bet you any amount of money you want that LaMark Brown can't hold Niles Paul's jock and never will. You don't have a clue what you're talking about. Former players from the 90s around summer workouts have been raving about how good Paul is. Give it up dude. Niles would be by far the best receiver on your team and maybe the best player on your team right now.

Do you spend any time at any board besides the KSU one?

here comes the internet bettor.  Good stuff.

Lamark = 6-3 229
Paul = 6-1 210

Lamark = 10.8 100
Paul = 11.1 100

good luck to Paul.  Nobody was impressed w/ him at the AA game other than Husker mods.

Niles would be by far the best receiver on your team and maybe the best player on your team right now. :lol:

Hell, there have been husker fans on the rivals100 board who have seen Paul play and say he's overrated.  Of course those are the husker fans who are now banned from HI.

Can we get through one thread about OUR team without a Cornhole State fan wanting to validate themselves??

Yeah and Larry Asante should be a linebacker. He's actually down to about 200 lbs. I'll LOL when he tears Patton's head off him.

LOL..per a Coffeyville coach he struggled in pass coverage as a safety.  But since he wanted to play it Nubb told him he could.  I hope he's on the field and tries to cover our receivers.  Good stuff.

Yeah and so did Roy Williams. Didn't stop him from being one of the most dominant defensive players in college football history. I hope your receivers actually have the balls to go across the middle.

so glad we passed on asante.

Obviously we didn't really pass on him but Patterson is in that same role that we wanted Asante for and I'll take him over Asante any day.  I'd also take Lamark over the Paul kid the Husker is pimping.  Hell I'll take Hogan over him too if he's really 6'2" 190 and runs a sub 4.4.

Dude, Chandler is twice the safety that Asante ever will be.  Why is when we have a player learning a new position it's a major hurdle, but when a Nubb switches positions it's a stroke of genius from Slash?  I mean, if he struggled in pass coverage at the Juco level, what makes you think he'll suddenly learn how to cover at the D1 level?  I have a feeling he will have alot of balls thrown his way this year.  And people will probably pass in his direction alot too.

LOL KSU would have died to have Asante and all you jackwads wanted him and would be posting his pics if he had ended up at Hayseed U in Manhattan. Nebraska on the other hand wanted to get the two split up because they flat out didn't want Chandler.

why are you trying to compare Chandler and Asante?  Chandler is a safety.  Asante is a LB trying to play safety.  So we got Chandler, a safety, and Patterson, a LB.

Congrats on Asante and his photos...or something. :jerkoff:

I would much rather have this:

Chris Patterson LB  6-3 220 - 5.8   Joliet, IL
Gary Chandler DB   5-11 186 4.43 6.0  Coffeyville, KS

Than This:
Larry Asante DB  6-1 205 4.4 5.9  Coffeyville, KS

I think Hatter says above that Patterson weighs 205. I question Patterson's ability to actually comprehend the game at this level. He's obviously not the sharpest knife in the drawer and offensive coordinators will just scheme to confuse him and make him a non factor. And funny enough, last year you guys were all claiming that Justin Roland was actually the better player on the NE Oklahoma defense in 2005.

I'd rather have Asante, Murrillo, Dixon and Barfield over anyone on your roster on either side of the ball.

So, our JUCO player is not smart enough to handle the transition, but yours is smart enough to handle the transition AND a new position.  Check.  BTW, did you know that Patterson players LB?  Have you ever played LB?  There really isn't a whole lot of thinking at that position.  And if you're planning on Slash outscheming anyone, you are in for a long, long year.

Asante was in Junior College for one year. The fact that Patterson actually qualified (after OU turned him down again) should alone get your program investigated by the NCAA. You have to be kidding me if you don't believe a linebacker has to think and recognize and have an astute knowledge of the game.  :rolleyes:

hmmm.....juco LB, comprehension, sharpest knife....dumbass Maxell.

Link to "intelligent" JC LB now able to comprehend NFL offenses:

(lol at wonderlic score)

you were saying Maxell?

And don't think it's about "intelligence" for Patterson..some kids absolutely hate school and classwork.

Chandler has never run a 4.4 in his life.  He's more like a 4.6...Asante is definitely faster than Chandler.

Maxell seems to be avoiding the DeMario info like the plague.  Interesting.  He may need a few more hours in addition the last few to come up w/ a good reason why Demario is smart enough but Patterson isn't.

Godspeed Maxell in fashioning your new spin.  It might be dangerous stretching your mind to limits you didn't know existed or "comprehended".

toodles.  :)

Notable WR recruits from/at Nebraska:

Mark LeFlore  :star: :star: :star: :star: --> Never more than 208 yards in a season
Andy Birkel  :star: :star: :star: --> STUD receiver (at 1AA UNC)

Both played under Slash.

And both are prime examples of WRs from Nebraska that were ridiculously overrated.  That's the point.

Both sucked, and sucked hard.

Birkel didn't even play a season under Callahan.

You've stricken 2004 from your memory all ready?

Cause Birkell was on the team for the entire 2004 season.
