Title: watched some of the Auburn - South Carolina and Florida games today..
Post by: The Manhatter on August 04, 2007, 03:59:54 PM
oh boy are they quick.  Lightning quick.  And they play a lot of 2 star and low 3 star ranked recruits.

As far as recruiting rankings they have been well below Florida, LSU, Tennessee, and Georgia that put the past few teams together.  They land a highly touted kid here and there but they have a lot of kids playing on the field Nubb fans would deem to be worthless.

Groves has ridiculous talent.   :ohno:

I'm not expecting our offense to get anything.  Just hopeful the defense plays well and we do well on special teams..if we do that we still have a chance in a field position type of game.

They have some terrible players btw.  The kid expected to start at center...very Handy like.  Not impressed w/ the young OL who saw some action and are expected to play this year.  Their receivers coming back w/ experience don't worry me..we see better in the Big 12 BUT some of their young receivers who have yet to hit the field (Hawthorne, Slaughter, Rose, etc)..they make me nervous.

But their defense is just obscene.  They won't be as quick in the front 4 moving Marks to DE and starting Sims at DT but that means they will be bigger up front and more explosive power-wise.

Quickness and toughness win a lot of games and their cup overflows in those areas.

lol, fatty....what's your fixation of playing ISU in the first game? I know you want a cupcake for the first game, but why ISU? Is it because of the 1998 ass kicking of ISU, 66-0? But we dont have Bishop, McDonald, Kelly, etc. :frown:

Remember, now.......we sometimes struggle with the ISU's of the world.  :crybaby:

I'm going to go through their commitment list and their guys that play, but they've recruited classes in the top 15 every year except one for as long as rivals shows. I can't imagine they even have that many 2* guys on their roster.

My post was supposed to say "I'm not going to go through.....". I'm not doubting what you posted, but they've still got loads of stars for those that get off on that.

oh sure..they signed some 4 star busts.  Some of their 4 stars have worked out for them...but the guts of their team has been kids who were average per the rankings.

Game is good national exposure.

I can see some future commits who will be watching coming just from this game.

 :hope: :hope: :hope:

Hatter. What is your deal with so much pessimism of the offense.   If we add some pieces , don't we become alot better?

Is it safe to assume that by "if we add some pieces" you mean an ENTIRE offensive line, then yes you are probably correct.

The OL is typically the "heart and soul" of any team and we don't have one yet until proven otherwise.

No charge.

Sounds like both defenses will have good nights then.  Auburn is also replacing 4 OL from a group that underachieved last year.
Special teams and turnovers will be the key.  That, and the fact that it will be about 101 at game time.  You wheaters have never felt humidity like you will on an early September night in Auburn.

 :loly:

Today's temps

Manhattan 96..heat index 107 w/ 52% humidity
Auburn 93...heat index 101 w/ 49% humidity

LOL.

Get to know the climates.  It will  be hotter nearly every day in Manhattan from now until kickoff than it will be in Auburn.  Sure..it should be more humid in Auburn than in Manhattan but not everyday.

Weather will not play a factor whatsoever.  Now crowd noise and dirty SEC officiating cheaters might but not weather.

Ah...the excuses already.  Amazing, and typical.

Oh...and the temps.... Bump the Humidity up to around 75+.   Makes a difference.   Not saying it'll be a "key" difference, but the game is being played at night...so why the FUC_! is anyone arguing about the heat.

Jesus..... :jerkoff:
