Title: KC star
Post by: fatty fat fat on August 04, 2007, 12:54:55 AM
K-State quarterback Josh Freeman was one of seven players to miss practice Friday because they did not pass a conditioning test and were placed on a physically-unable-to-perform list.

Also on the list: center Jordan Bedore, defensive tackle Vlad Faustin, offensive lineman Derek Meyer, offensive lineman Brock unruh, offensive lineman Brad Rooker and quarterback Caleb Smith. Each day the players get another chance to pass the test.

I love the excuses being made for Freeman.  The three repeat offenders are pathetic, but the overall list is quite a bit shorter.

2006:
Wafford
Hafferty
Spexarth
Bedore
Unruh
Frieson
Boss
Rooker
Echols
Moran
Moriera
Watts
Anders
Garvin

damn you.  You stole my line.

sunshine report says: list is smaller than initial list in 2006.
cloudy report says: half the OL on there like last year.  :blindfold:

The good news is pretty much the entire defense passed the test with the exception of Faustin who is a role player.  Moran was the last guy to pass last season and he passed the first try this year so it's good to see him in much better shape because we need a good year out of him.

The bad news well that is kind of obvious not a good start to the year for Freeman.  Also disapointed to see Bedore's name on the list word was he had become the leader of the o-line this off season.

With all the "Power of One" garbage I'm sure Freeman's head was too big for his helmet.  This will prove that Ronald does not play favorites.  I will reiterate that I love PUP drama, it is like real drama.....but has no factor in anything that has or will happen with the team.  I can see this turning into a good tool for Ronald to use to kick players (Everidge, Boss, etc.) off the team (make them quit) with in the future.  With Patton and now Freeman Prince has shown disciplining players is something he excels at no matter who you are (opposite of NU).

Obviously, the test was rigged to make Coffman our new QB. He has always been Ronald's golden boy -- would've started last year except he had the torn rotator cuff. By flunking Caleb Smith and Josh Freeman, Ronald is just ensuring that his pet will get all the reps and advantages heading into Auburn.

Oh, and look for Tysyn Hartman to get moved to punter or DE or something soon.

Maybe Freeman to Smith will just transfer out to hand the job to Prince's Golden Boy.

Coach Scarsmar has probably already ripped their slings off, called them effing pussies, cleaned out their lockers, and sent them packing--even though both of them offered to play safety.

So is it true Freeman had to do the DB/RB test?

Pretty sure they lump the "skills positions" together.  RB, DB, QB, and WR.

I wonder if Dylan Meier was considered "skill" position last year.

Dylan was excused from it b/c he had a shoulder injury.
