Title: Prince at Nebraska Coaches Clinic
Post by: S. Parker on August 01, 2007, 09:58:51 PM
I admire Prince for speaking to Nebraska high school coaches. That crowd consisted almost entirely of husker fans, and he went anyway. I would have hated public speaking in that situation, but he seemed to handle it with good humor.

He left them speechless.

I loved the "Callahan the real coach" comment.  RP kills with the inside jokes that nub fans don't get.

Very true, Prince has too big of an ego to be serious about that comment. Plus way more success for RP than HCBC in both of their first seasons.

Ron loves sarcasm...

Huskers didn't asked questions because they were intimidated by his ability to be scary smart.

Pittcat,

Your avatar bugs me. It's just weird as hell.

They were probably waiting for RP to hit a coach's GF.

"Great, I dazzled you," he said. "The session's over. Coach Callahan's next. Wake up and listen to the real coach."
I'm not sure if I like the fact that he made the comment or not.  It's funny yes, but it basically negated any good will he earned during the first 44 minutes he spent talking.  So, why even waste the time up there?

This was interesting, too:

Quote
He likes to recruit small running backs and cornerbacks. Look at the NFL Hall of Fame, Prince said. You won't find big backs. They're all 5-foot-8 or 5-9. Yet every coach is looking for the 6-2 backs and corners. "I don't get it," he said.

They should institute some sort of coaching knowledge for recruiting Nowledge trade.  Both sides would benefit greatly.

I think Prince meant to say that he wants 7% of our RBs and CBs to be 5'8" or 5'9".  That being said, it is kind of amazing how people expect teams like KSU and ku to recruit corners that are bigger than the typical NFL CB.

I can only take a small portion of the credit.  I only spent 37 seconds looking up 17 DB's.  Someone else oh Phog already ripped Prince on the RB's so I didn't need to spend another 45 seconds on that.

But hey, looks like Pronce has the next Emmit Smith on the roster.  You guys should be celebrating.   :ksu:

I take it back, vanro is dumb enough to stick around.

If I left, would you miss me?

I would be surprised if you found anybody on this board that would miss you.

They're all 5-foot-8 or 5-9. Yet every coach is looking for the 6-2 backs and corners. "I don't get it," he said.

But how can he explain this?

Logan Dold
Garden Plain HS
Ht: 6-1 Wt: 200
Position:    RB

Source: Scout.com
Dold wasn't recruited as a RB.

I know dumbass, corner..  :jerkoff:

Your BOY speaks out of both sides of his mouth... :twobirds:
Dold wasn't recruited as a corner either.  :blank:

According to Scout.com he was..  First day with the new keyboard...

Safety, dumbass, safety..   :blank:

Let's look what he had in camp for Rutgers.
FS 18 Andrew Erker        6-0 195  So.-SQ

LOL @ you completely embarrassing yourself and now backtracking like crazy.

I just pointed out that Prince is full of chit. Nice tap out on your part.. Looks like your the one backtracking... :-X
You pointed out what? That every one of our starters except for one cornerback fits Prince's ideal height for their position perfectly? LOL @ you thinking Dold was a running back and then a cornerback.

"He likes to recruit small running backs and cornerbacks. Look at the NFL Hall of Fame, Prince said. You won't find big backs. They're all 5-foot-8 or 5-9. Yet every coach is looking for the 6-2 backs and corners. "I don't get it," he said."

so he liked to recruit highschool kids based off what some guys looked like in another era in the nfl?  what a fuc8ing tool.  why doesn't he recruit some 250 pound o-lineman, plenty of those in the hall of fame I would imagine

Hey D-Bag, you forgot the other corners.  Pretty much validates what Prince was speaking about, and makes you look even more ill-informed.  (Wow, I didn't even think that was possible!)

CB 13 Joshua Moore 5-10 168 Fr.-HS
  6 Byron Garvin 5-10 180 Jr.-2L
