Title: Buddy Bell to resign at the end of the season?
Post by: Saulbadguy on August 01, 2007, 03:17:31 PM
Anyone else catch that on 810?

Yep, it's on right now on BTL. Keitz is guessing that one of the reasons is that Buddy is disappointed with no contract extension.

KC Royals suck again....

Jason LaRue, Emil Brown and Jason Smith will be screwed if Bell resigns.

Are you presuming that losing Bell is a bad thing for KC?

IDK. I'm just anti-royals.

But you have to admit they've actually looked decent the last two months.

I'd be ok with Buddy hitting the highway. What's up with LaRue getting all these starts lately? Is Buck hurt? Why have a sub .200 in the line up so much if you don't have to? Ick!

Because of this guy:

Whether Bell has had anything to do with it is debatable.

1. Buddy Bell, 3,550
2. Mickey Vernon, 2,772
3. Ernie Banks, 2,528
4. George Sisler, 2,517
5. Nap Lajoie, 2,470

7. Doug Rader, 2,271
8. Ron Santo, 2,243
9. Toby Harrah, 2,231
10. Don Kessinger, 2,184

Bell has a 4.5 season lead on the next turd on the list.

And in no way for just two decent months should Buddy think he deserves a contract extension from Dayton.

Joe Girardi?

Joe Girardi?

I would be shocked if he signed up to manage here.  Until Glass opens his pocketbook no one worth a sh1t will come to K.C.

Girardi turned down Baltimore.  He's waiting for a club he can win with.  Don't flatter yourselves.

The theory I've heard is that LaRue is a significantly superior defensive catcher.

I agree that this is true, but it in no way justifies Buck only getting ~60% of the games behind the plate.  Buck should be playing closer to 85%.

Equally bizarre is Bell's obsession with Jason Smith (.200) as a pinch hitter.

Looks to me like you're reaching for mine instead.  Admirable.

By the way, kudos on your youtube sockery.  The Snyder flaming was great.  I had wondered where you were hiding all your funny, because it has definitely vacated this joint.

With Moore's ties to Atlanta, I wouldn't be surprised if he hired either Terry Pendleton(Braves hitting coach) or the great Jeff Blauser( aa coach).

Frank White probably have a chance to interview for it.

I'm not sold on Joe Girardi as a manager. Yes, he did have one solid season and was manager of the year, but so was Tony Pena.

whoever it is, they will def. benefit what all the past losing managers had to endure to get to this point.

slowly but surely, the wallet is creaking open.

dayton moore has balls the size of bairds head. each ball = one of bairds head.

young talent finally ripe for the picking. next year they will have a season under the belt. but lets stop moving gordon around. establish him at 3rd for cryin out loud.

i dont think moore will use his atlanta connections to pull a coach from their bench. he already has done enough with atlanta as a royals GM, he needs to get off the braves teet.

i think whoever comes in has to be established.

id like to see buck showalter as manager.-and erin bajackson topless.

I never watch local evening news.  network evening news.  network primetime programming.  Actually never anything below PBS unless for sports.

All that has begun to change with "So You Think You Can Dance?"

I am mesmerized.

This bitch is crazy!!
