Title: It's nice giving recruits a chance they wouldn't get anywhere else!
Post by: ksuno1stunner on April 28, 2006, 11:52:35 PM
if ksu didn't offer these kids, they wouldn't have a chance to play anywhere!  so we should be proud for giving these guys a chance at d1 ball!

KSU, where second place is acceptable!  and where our fans actually believe ksu will be better without mayo, because he is a "headcase" and is "egotistical".

open your eyes you moral winners.  i'm glad rusty and fatty opened mine, otherwise i'd still be in a state of denial, thinking everything is ok.  this is going downhill.  and don't give me that "oh we're recruiting more speed" bs, just because rivals lists them as a 4.5 forty.  EVERYBODY is listed as a 4.5 forty dipcraps, and you don't think other coaches recruit for speed?  you guys are a bunch of losers, i'm happy i'm going to ku now.

We certainly don't want Nebraska to be second best.

is that a joke?  cause i cant think of a single reason to ever think going to ku is ok.

no it's not, i was going there because they have what i want to study, but even though i'm not going into that, i'm still going there considering it's the only school i applied to, and i have a decent scholly.  i did also buy some pretty cool friends at this one frat there.

we'll be good with snyder's players.  i don't doubt prince's ability to coach, as from what i've heard, the players want to play well for them.  however, in bball, the players loved wooly, and look what happened.

The players didn't love Wooly ... in fact a whole bunch hated his ass.

cartier was in love with wooly.  from quotes it seemed like a bunch of players  :crybaby: when wooly was telling them he was being fired

Peete, Willingham, Williams, DaBarrosa, Spurlock, Terry, Hayden, Buchanan, Reynolds, Morrison, etc. are exhibits A - J of players that loved Wooly.

So, based on your rationale, you were not good enough to attend any other schools?  I mean, if only ku offered you a scholly, no other schools would have ever offered you one?

no need to be a smartass.

going to school for academics is different than recruiting for athletics.

You cannot argue that stars don't matter. You will lose that argument every single time.

You cannot argue that stars are the reason for success.  You cannot win that argument at all.

Then why do teams that recruit well do better than teams that do not?

Would you rather take a team of 5-stars or a team of 2-stars?

Which team would do better?

If I had a great coach, a team of two stars will beat a team of 5 stars with a mediocre coach.

That's where your argument fails.   Do we want the best players?  Yes, but we won't always get the best players.  Coaching the players is a major part of the equation and having a system that the players can work in.

Go ask Robert Johnson at Arkansas.  Or Chris Boggas.

Yeah, and if you don't agree, ask Coach Snyder.

You = lose.  Again.

Getting a team of five star players is more likely to field a better team than one consisting of two star players.

You make it sound like stars give no indication of potential whatsoever.

Yeah, this is from a guy who doesn't go to a spring game and then evaluates the players.

Seriously, you need not enter this conversation or you will be destroyed.

In a few years when Prince's recruiting is in plain view and your hoping for a 6 win season I'll be here to laugh at you.

Go ahead and ignore the star ratings, I'm sure all of those single offer Ksu verbals are gonna be diamonds in the rough. All of them.

I'll take our recruiting over yours. You have no idea how happy I am that we don't have 13 commits most of which have no offer from other schools.

i'd rather have ku's class last year instead of what we have this year.  lamark appears to be better than all of them, but that's about it.

Well, I don't get this.

fatty, do we just want kids with offers from Top 20 schools and not this:

I would love to have a 3 star lineman with a Big 10 offer.

Like I said, I think KSU should wait until most of these kids went off to camps and then got all kinds of offers, before getting heavily involved.

I fully agree with you, and stunner and Rusty ... lets let other schools get in the first shots, and then wait until Oct. or Nov.

Prince should only be going after kids who have 10-12 offers and all the names should be FSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Penn State, USC, Alabama, Florida and Ohio State.

Isn't that what you guys want ... only offering Blue Chips, not involved at all with kids who would get Big 12 and other D1 offers until 4 or 5 other schools have offered and are heavily engaged.

That kind of recruiting worked out SO WELL in the last 4 or 5 years of Snyder's tenure.

OK, so Rusty just wants them as long as they have offers from other BCS conferences..

fatty only wants them if the have offers from Top 20 schools.

Gotcha.

Thanks bro.

High recruiting class = Better chance for success on the field

Why can't this register?
