Title: Meltdowns concerning Arthur...
Post by: ksuno1stunner on July 22, 2007, 05:08:34 PM
...on the Wabash.

Aren't they the best?  Everything from "stars don't matter", "I'd rather have our players than prima donnas", "we're good enough", "we aren't good enough", etc.

Beautiful.

LOL at the prima donna comment. Even with out his freakish athletic ability, that is the type of kid that you would want to be on your team.

Five-star LB loves Seminole Showtime

Lee Gordon
Warchant.com

The Arthur Brown world tour made a pit stop in Tallahassee on Saturday afternoon, just in time for the Seminole Showtime Camp. While the Rivals100 member didn't stay for the camp session in the evening, he and his mentor Brian Butler did spend enough time to know how special the Showtime experience really was.

"We had a great time, FSU has a great facility, a lot of tradition," said Butler. "We got to meet Jerry Rice, Greg Jones, and Corey Simon, what a better time can you have than that.

"We left before the camp started, but if those type of caliber players are running the camp that says a lot about the program."

Brown will visit several schools this week.
The 6-foot-1, 210-pound linebacker spent a lot of time with recruiting coordinator John Lilly and linebackers coach Chuck Amato. Bobby Bowden was at the College Football Hall of Fame Ceremony in South Bend and wasn't able to meet Brown and his traveling party.

"We were there for four hours, there were a lot of people to attend to so there wasn't a lot of personal one on one time," said Butler. "We talked to the academic person, that's our first goal to see what's going on with the major and things of that nature.

"I thought the campus was beautiful, the stadium was huge, they had the Warchant going."

And of course, the chance to meet Jerry Rice didn't hurt the visit either.

"We were all very excited," said Butler. "I rarely get excited about meeting players, but obviously Jerry Rice being the best receiver, we were like 10 year olds. We enjoyed the opportunity to get a picture."

But now to the real issue, where does Florida State rank now that the five-star linebacker was able to see first hand what Seminole tradition is all about?

"Honestly, this trip was not about Arthur's ranking and changing his list because he's going to evaluate his top 22," said Butler. "He's a good decision maker and has to have all of his information before moving one school up or down.

"It wouldn't be fair to change the rankings for a one day trip, if that were the case all the schools on the trip would be in the top 10. It was a great time, he'll make the comparison with every other school he sees and by September he'll cut his list, but we all had a very good time."

Joining Brown on the trip was his brother Bryce Brown and linebacker Jay Ban Bird. The duo didn't receive offers this weekend, but an offer could be around the corner for both of the 2009 recruits.

"Obviously it's not a secret that Bryce is the No. 1 player in the country at this time," said Butler. "I think he'll receive an offer from every school that Arthur has. I think with Jaydan Bird, (Andover Central High School in Wichita, KS) we could have the No. 1 linebacker in the country. He's 6-foot-3, 225 pounds and runs a 4.5 40 and is improving every day. He's working out with Arthur every day. We could have the No. 1 player in the country and the No. 1 linebacker in the country from Wichita."

Here is the remainder of the schedule for Arthur Brown and his traveling party:

Sunday: Georgia and Georgia Tech
Monday: Alabama and Ole Miss
Tuesday: Memphis and Arkansas
Wednesday: Oklahoma
