recruits not making it?
-
pinchback is probably not going to happen
my guess is that walls isn't going to either.
-
Old news that you might not of heard, but Jake Roepke is going to Butler C.C.C.
The other player that it seems is a for sure JUCO route is Pinchback, and maybe Eldridge Sims. But other than those three it seems like everyone else is in good shape.

Is Butler C.C.C., like, a juco version of a juco? If so, I'm pulling for Jake to make it to a juco (proper) before it's all said and done.

Butler County Community College

anybody else annoyed at the fact that butler plays in the Kansas Jayhawk conference?

Uhh... Butler's the 4 time national champions Juco School. KJCCC champions the last 6 times in a row; 14 times overall... as far as athletics go, they're probably one of the best Juco schools in the midwest. You really should have heard of them.
-
Crap, yet another player that will have Butler as a GATEKEEPER.
-
Did Cuba decide not to accept the Grayshirt offer? He's not enrolled. Drinkgern is.

I can't think of a more appropriate name for our minor league farm system.

Kansas State = Majors

Butler C.C.C. = AA

Greyshirt only means they go on scholarship at 2nd semester. It has NOTHING to do w/ that first semester. NOTHING.
It has everything to do w/ the elgibility clock of an athlete. Once an athlete attends his first class as a "FULL-TIME" student their eligibility clock starts and they have 5 years to complete and compete. IT DOES NOT START IF YOU ATTEND CLASSES AS A PART-TIME STUDENT.
Greyshirt = Does not go to school first semester but goes on scholarship 2nd semester (ex: Jonathan Lewis)
Greyshirt = PAYS OWN WAY AS PART-TIME STUDENT first semester and goes on scholarship 2nd semester.
Greyshirt = Has nothing to do w/ first semester just a signed promise of program to start paying that 2nd semester.

non-qualifiers = Evans, Harris, Haynes, McDaniel, Pinchback, Roepke, and most suspect Walls will be on that list as well. Everybody expected Evans, Harris, Haynes, and McDaniel to be non-qualifiers when they signed. There was talk last fall that both Roepke and Pinchback would be likely non-qualifiers. Walls was the only one that came as a surprise though his fate has yet to be decided per his mom.
KSU added a JC OL named Eric Benoit.

Did the Jerrell McDaniel situation ever get clarified?
Jerrell and Lamark together would be mighty fine.

Garden City?

I was thinking more along the lines of:
A = Salina Central

A=4th Teir Texas Players

Brainfart setting in but isn't one of Liu or Sims unlikely to show too?

I was hoping to get some of that Salina-Central vs. Salina-South smack going.

4th Tier Texas Players>SC or SS

And SC/SS >>> Wichita.

Medicine Lodge>Wichita

McDaniel is going juco. We know that for sure as his mother told a reporter. And we knew that was going to happen. There was a false alarm on here a few weeks ago spread by me..ehdabeags said he had qualified but had him mixed up w/ ANOTHER Illinois kid, Stewart.
And McDaniel not to be confused w/ Hogan.
Though it would have been badass to have all three...at least we have both Hogan and Lamark in Manhattan right now.
-
Smith Center > Medicine Lodge
Of course Agra-Eastern Heights is the REAL pipeline.
Prince has been spending lots of time down there. If Butler were wise, he'd book a flight to Agra ASAP and get some of those kids on board with PP.

That's what I figured. I had my hopes up though with that false alarm. Getting two studs out of the STL area that contributed right away would have been real nice. STL has a good amount of talent.
-

Liu is already in Manhattan so he's qualified.
Sims is not in Manhattan yet but claims he will be...but it's sort of looking like Ricky Miller saga to me. Said he would be done in December. He wasn't. Then it was May..nope. Then it was the end of June. Nope. Now it's the end of July. We have seen these types before...I'd call him 50/50(if that) at this point based on similar JC's in the past who do this.
Murphy taking one more class right now...allegedly. One he already took and failed, allegedly.

Like you say below, they can go to the first semester, but have to pay their own way.
Greyshirt = PAYS OWN WAY AS PART-TIME STUDENT first semester and goes on scholarship 2nd semester.
Greyshirt = Has nothing to do w/ first semester just a signed promise of program to start paying that 2nd semester.
Soooo... is your short answer that he will enroll for the 2008 Spring semester?

The good news is that we'll get McDaniel, Haynes, Harris, and whoever in a few years. If we want them.
-

I was just clairfying for you what a greyshirt is...since you thought he might no longer be greyshirting since he wasn't enrolled. Of course he could still be going to school in the fall semester if he wants to pay his own way.
I don't know why he wouldn't enroll for the spring semester. There has been some talk that Drinkgern might not want to play football any longer but who knows where that came from.

Doubt it but wouldn't mind it.

STL=A?
That would be a good thing.
I think the appropriate value chain is this:
 4th Tier Texas Players  > STL > Salina Central > Salina South > Smith Center > Medicine Lodge > Agra Eastern Heights >>>>>>> Wichita
-
Thanks. I knew what greyshirt meant, but thought that most would enroll for the Fall semester anyways.
I didn't mean he had to enroll for the Fall. Since I have been following this stuff, (which isn't that long) most have enrolled for the Fall.
-
Thanks for clearing that up. I knew one was not really a worry but couldn't remember which one. Lately someone had told me Sims was on the fence. Old brain just doesn't fire sometimes.

Wichita has some talent.

I'd rather have 4th Tier Texas Players.
That's what KSU is built on. The glory days of Snyder were attained by urinating on Wichita kids while offering scrub Texans scholarships. Don't mess with a proven formula.

Jucos are for mouth breather dolts with monkey-like IQ levels, or social misfits who can't manage to escape their parent's basement. Don't get me wrong, I think we should recruit the hell out of them...but the only thing more ridiculous than a juco "education" is being a juco "fan."

Who the hell said anything about being a Juco fan, if you've ever taken the turnpike between Wichita and Emporia, you've seen the signs that gave the exact info I just spat out. I'm simply pointing out that if you know anything about College football and incoming Juco recruits, you should have a vague idea of BCCC.
P.S. Totally agree with everything you said; Except, I'd take classes at BCCC before Wichita State.
-
I thought WSU was a Juco.

Just a little FYI- from what I understand, Butler Co. Community College is now known simply as Butler College. At least I'm pretty sure about that.

BCC renamed itself so as not to be confused with BCCC.
