Alot of people feel that he is in the same category as buhl, pierce, leber, simineau etc because he intercepted 2 passes against mizzou and returned them for td's.

I agree with Fatty... good leader, but people don't seem to realize that he DID miss a lot of tackles.

He was the "Travis Litton" of the 1999 defense/linebackers.

agree....I can't tell you how many times I got pissed at him for trying to arm tackle someone....Buhl was so much better than Archer - heck I can't name someone who wasn't better

The good thing about Archer was he was usually where he was supposed to be, then he would sometimes miss the tackle. Diles and Walker often effed up their keys / reads / fits, so they were running to the wrong place while the other team had a big gain or scored. If Walker splits time with Perry again this season, we can just give up on him ever amounting to much. He should be winning that battle without trouble, but he doesn't get the mental part of the game.

Did you pay attention to Roland when he played?  He took awful angles and didn't wrap up well.  He was the most physically gifted LB on the team last year and he didn't start.  Roland is huge and runs well but his wrapping up and football IQ aren't so great.  Now he will likely be starting by default.  Kids like Rosel and Diehl not being good are again big misses from some of Snyder's last classes.

He was good for us.  Lead the team with tackles (as inside linebackers often do) and knocked that pussy from Texas the &@#% out.  Not the most physically gifted, and did miss tackles from time to time.  I'd still rather have him than some of our linebackers this year though.
