Just had a couple questions about a couple of our incoming guys...
I had forgotten about McDaniel (http://kansasstate.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=1&pr_key=54915). I assume he didn't qualify, but has anyone heard for sure? If he does/did, he could be another really solid target.
Speaking of targets at WR, I see from the roster that Deon Murphy is listed as WR ( :lick: at the 40 time). Is it possible we play Nelson, Brown, Hogan and Murphy in a 4-wide set??? :love:
It's just striking me... if we can get even marginal o-line play, Freeman shouldn't have to go through near as many progressions as last year!

why wouldnt Cedric Wilson start over Gonzo or Hogan?

They didn't make Freeman go through to many progressions last year....Which is why many are predicting he may have a soph. slump... :ohno:
The sad part of last year we only played like 2 games with our WRs at full strength.... :'(
WE should have a solid WR core this year but one things for we will have great WRs in the years to come :ksu:

I can definitely see that, esp. early in the year, and esp. over one of the true freshman... but let's not forget about Ernie Peirce. I could see him stepping in -- he has great size, and Gonzo didn't exactly blow me away last year. Same with Wilson.

Isn't this more like... The O-line didn't give him time to go through many progressions last year? The times he wasn't running for his life, I seem to remember him checking off pretty well.

I don't think Freeman is a thread the needle type QB..nor will he ever be...but if he can drop back, scramble and find a short route or a half back he'll be much more successful letting the WR make the yards after the catch.
Ell figured that out after his sophmore year. Letting the other offensive players make plays instead of relying so heavily on the home-run ball.
