Watching Live on Powercat Passport!
-
Dylan Meier dominating!
Fired a nice pass for the first score of the game.
7-0 White.
-
I'm trying to decide if I like the earthwork in the endzone better than folding chairs.
I think I'm an earthwork lean.
-
Freeman's first throw is a 3 yard pass to the TE.
At least Norwood caught it.
-
Nice looking crowd. Kinda hard to tell with the camera angles though.
-
Oi. Just had a shot of a cheerleader, who needs to work harder in the off-season.
-
Wow, just had a nice crowd shot. Really good job Cat fans!
-
Purple DL getting handled pretty easily.
-
Prince is doing a very nice job so far.
Seiler just picked up a fumble. That looked like Lopina not getting the ball into the carrier's gut.
-
Wow, Purple DL just smashed by left side of white OL. Just blown off the ball.
14-0 White.
-
Evridge showing a little bit of the QB run game.
Clayton not gettting anywhere near as much room to run for the Purple as Anders does for the White.
And now Clayton fumbles. Not that big a shot to get it out of there.
Prince corrects Wyatt.
-
Evridge to Moreira for a nice gain.
Nice looking play up the seam.
-
Really nice little out to Norwood, giving him room to run.
Purple moving the ball for the first time.
Evridge doing a nice job in the 2:00 drill.
Terry Petrie bounces a draw out to the left side down to the 2 or so.
-
Evridge to Norwood TD purple. 14-7.
Tight Ends have been huge for both squads in the red zone.
-
Halftime.
I was kind of concerned with how Prince would come off working in the booth. But honestly, he did a very nice job. He had one or two nice insights.
-
Cheerleaders trying to "start new tradition."
Cheerleaders are
Lame
-
I didn't see this.. but it's nice watching this.
Everidge looks cool, but gosh darnit.. if Clayton Thomas doesn't hold onto the ball, this is gonna be bad.
-
Meier has been the most impressive QB. Evridge looked good on that last drive.
Of course Evridge hasn't had as many opportunities with all the young guys on the same squad.
But yeah, we don't have a lot of RB depth. Clayton needs to hold on to the ball. If he can't, we're going to be awfully reliant on a JC guy who has never played D1 ball.
-
Wow, that was a nice grab on the sidelines of Freeman's pass.
-
Purple's best work is up the seams. Nice throw from Freeman to Moreira in stride.
-
Umpire just got crushed. CRUSHED.
-
I really like the way Freeman is handling himself this drive.
Just threw a really nice fade to Jordy for a TD.
14-14 game.
-
Basketball commercial just gave me chills.
-
Spexarth did a nice job pulling from right to left to spring a good run.
-
Pressure from Cambell leads to a Baldwin INT. Meier should have eaten the sack.
Purple attacking the seam again. This time Lopina to Moreira.
-
Back to the QB run game. Not a great, but effective, block from Grigsby springs Lopina for a couple extra yards.
Now, sack Seiler.
-
Lopina makes a bad read/throw. INT Gaskins.
Lopina isn't having a great game.
-
Blooper real runs over White Touchdown. :chainsaw:
-
I'm sure the TD was impressive to watch.
-
White starting to put pressure on purple again.
-
With some pressure, Evridge just made a fantastic thow to Val Taylor on 3rd and 19 for a first down.
-
Echols just blew past Unruh (I think it was Unruh) for a sack.
White DL doing better than I thought they would.
-
I really like what Webb is doing. If this game is any indication, he should be right in the mix for the starting job.
-
Anders has been the most impressive RB today. He's making the right decisions, making a few people miss, and hanging onto the football.
-
Final:
21-14 White
-
Prince is talking, but we're not hooked into the feed. :banghead:
-
freeman is a stud

Couple things from the live web feed..
1. KSU's implementation of the West Coast Offense makes Callahan's implementation look like an amateur. KSU kids picked up on the routes and assignments as if they had known about it all their lives. It was amazing to me how the young QB's picked it up and made great decisions.
2. Our defense is really going to have issues if the Mike LB is going to handle this cover two and we get no penetration. In the one drive, Norwood had come open over the middle and Echols got some penetration and blocked Lopina from seeing him. Norwood would have had a 10-15 yard gain because Walker had dropped off into coverage too early. This may be just a technical issue, because on a similar play, Walker seemed to be in the right position and stopped a short dump off. I imagine the only way we're going to really be successful in cover 2 is to make sure we get solid penetration to disrupt the QB. Seiler and Echols did some good things making the O-Line stand up and block the passing lanes on the short cross by the TE, but a good offensive line will move those boys out. We have be incredibly more physical to get at the QB. The good news is, while the secondary had left some small holes there were players in good positions to converge quickly to take away any long gains after the catch. That will get better as the players get more familiar, but it's clear, the DB's and Safeties are vying for PICK positions, not just being passive defenders. They are in position to get angles on the ball, and if we have a good rush and force throws, we're going to get a lot of picks.
3. Freeman looked good back there. Lopina made a couple of fundamental mistakes, maybe because he's still learning from one system to another. That gives Freeman the edge. Everidge played well, if you take away the short dump to the tackle. Webb and Meier have both matured, but Meier by far looks the most comfortable, and seems to understand the offense the best.
4. Wanted to see more of the Special teams. Was not showcased very well.
5. We have one cheerleader that apparently is having trouble losing her winter fat. That was disgusting. :yuck:
-
Special teams wasn't showcased because the punt returners had to fair catch every punt.
