on June 24, 2004 when the Royals traded Carlos Beltran to the Astros for John Buck and Mark Teahen? Teahen is the Royals’ reigning player of the year, and Buck may win the award this year.
Overall a pretty good trade for the Royals.
-
royals player of the year is not even close to the almost NL MVP
-
Meanwhile, back in reality, Beltran is leading all NL players in All-Star voting, while neither of your guys are on the radar. This trade was just another in a long line of Royals salary dumps, nothing more. Anyone with that level of talent is too expensive for the KC market, which is how players like Teahen wind up as team MVP.

LOL at asking "where were you" and insinuating that it was anything near as big as Beasley committing.

"Players like Teahen" who lead their team in RBI and Walks and who make themselves into pretty darn productive players. You mean guys like that?
I've got a new way for you to sign your posts.....
idiot
There. How will that work for you?

LOL @ routinely getting owned by Kono.

So do you think the Mets would trade Beltran for Teahen/Buck right now? This might be the most retarded post catsfan has ever made.
-
Why would they have to? They can keep Beltran.....We couldn't!

Big fish, small pond.
Leading the Royals with 40 RBI is currently good for 63rd in the majors. That means, on average, each other MLB team has two guys with more RBI. The only other team in baseball where 40 RBI would qualify for the team best is the White Sox.
My point wasn't that Teahen is miserably awful. He's somewhat above average. But his team is miserably awful, and citing his team standing isn't very strong evidence of his individual prowess. On a legitimate team, he wouldn't be MVP; he'd probably be batting 6th.

This team, unlike Royals teams under GMAB, is showing some fight. It's not going to show in the standings because we got off to such a horrible start in April but we're 22-28 since May 1 and we're only 1 1/2 games from getting out of last place in the AL Central. I'd still take the Royals over the Orioles, Devil Rays, Giants, Nationals, Rangers, White Sox and Reds right now. Plus the Royals scored the second-most runs in the AL Central in June, averaging 5.6 per game.
Seriously.....Don't watch ESPN for unbiased baseball reporting. If your team name doesn't include "Yankees" or "Red Sox" in it.....They don't care about you!
-
either way, Teahen is all we got. :(

and we're only 1 1/2 games from getting out of last place in the AL Central.
That's the spirit!

This coming from the guy that never thinks for himself and repeats everything he hears from sports pundits.

Hey "waks off".....How's that win last night over the best team in the American League treating you?

I'm confused... Boston is visiting Seattle.

Good point. Shows you how little I care about a sport where the results are pre determined before the season starts.

Don't know where I was, but I'm pretty sure I was not caring about Royals Baseball... Possible even laughing at how terrible they are.

Wow. Tell me when we get to .500. And fwiw, I never said anything bad about the Royals.

If only it said: "on June 24, 2004 when the Royals traded Mike Sweeney to the Astros for John Buck and Mark Teahen? Teahen is the Royals’ reigning player of the year, and Buck may win the award this year.
