He loves the defensive line, saying it might be the deepest he's seen in his nearly 15 years of service at the school. The secondary, a bunch of inexperienced freshmen last year, have a year of SEC action on their resume. The linebackers are untested, but the talent is undeniable.
On offense, four-fifths of the line must be replaced, and when freshmen are being counted on, it's another concern. There is quality depth at running back -- Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville has said redshirt freshman Mario Fannin will go down as one of the greatest running backs in school history when his career is over, but no one knows if he'll see the field this season.
First to 10 wins.

Yikes. Guess we will rely on our special teams and defense to do the scoring. :fatty:

Not diggin' that.

I have money on Tommy pulling a trick special teams play on us (similar to Louisville). And us trying to pull 2, one of which will work, the other will end up like the UT fake punt.
-
Our lack of depth on o-line concerns me.
You know for a fact they are going to attack us early and often. Look at what Rutgers did.
-
Our lack of starting offensive tackles concerns me. Not only do we not have a 2-deep at OT, we don't have a 1-deep.
Nick Stringer: always injured and weighing in at 260 these days.
Alesana Alesana: a guard playing tackle.
It's gonna be a remix of 2006. :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

Good thing we return our kicker so we dont' have to worry about the kicking game. :frown:

Auburn's offense won't be terribly impressive so I think you guys will be in the game throughout. However, hard to imagine your offense generating more than 100 yards. Their corners will play physical -press coverage like you've never seen, which means either a lot of INTs by Freeman or a bunch of sacks.

Or quite probably both. :'(

Our D has the potential to be scary good.
Our K, P, and PK potentially could be scary bad
Our O will not scare anybody from a quick strike perspective. If you can't stop the run, it will be a long night on the Plains for the KSU faithful.
The key is "potential", so who knows what will happen. Looking forward to a great game.

I saw we send out two WR's and the other 8 guys just run around and block anyone trying to get to Freeman.

Wouldn't work, Freeman would panic and trip over one our lineman's feet and then fumble it, or just throw it up for an INT. He seems to like to do that stuff.

Interesting column about how our special teams scare Auburn and about how important they're going to be in the game. I believe!!!!!

Very true.
Josh may well end up with more INT's than first downs.

We are going to get run over... start dealing with it now because their O is going to dominate our D. Anybody have any reason to believe otherwise?

Rob Jackson, Mike Abana, Alfonso Moran. They will dominate Auburn's offensive line.

 I'm amazed a "new" thread wasn't started for it, and that link posted in this one.

The sack count might reach double digits. For each team.

Unfortunately we dont have a proven punt returner. So that area shouldn't scare them that much.
If the offense gets 10 points on the board I would be surprised.
The chances of ksu busting a big kickoff return are high....simply because i think they're going to have a lot of kickoffs to return. :crybaby:

They may not be proven, but you gotta believe that Patton, Johnson, Murphy, Woods, Bell, and even Hogan will be extremely dangerous taking kicks back.
